THE WNNING ARSENAL

A lot of the times as heads of our families, we seem to be at a loss as to how to overcome the challenges that confront us. Now these challenges come from within and from without and it cuts across spiritual, emotional, mental, financial and physical aspect of life. Some husbandmen have given up hope and surrendered to the pressures of the challenges. And sadly, many more are merely existing and looking defeated in every way possible. That is not what God wants for you as the head of your family. God doesn’t want you to fail rather He wants you to continue to live a victorious life in your sheepfold. You are the good shepherd. However, if you don’t know the arsenal to apply in the fight over the forces of the wicked, you may live in defeat all the days of your life.

So, what are the weapons that God has provided for you and I as shepherds over our flock to the extent that we win on a daily basis? The Bible has the answers.

The weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God through the pulling down of strongholds……(2Cor.10:4).  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers in high places……(Eph.6:12). These are vital tools you need to understand that the fight is against satan, sin and the world and not against your wife or your children. They are not your real enemy. Satan is.

So the first is the weapon of faith in God. “Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions (Heb.11:33). The second weapon is bold declaration over the ungodly forces trying to distort God’s perfect plan for your life and that of your family kingdom. In Rom.10:9-10, the word of tells us that with the heart man believes and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. God has given you the power and authority to decree what you want and what you don’t. Jesus Christ has also given the power to put satan underneath your feet (Lk.10:19). Therefore, when you notice ungodly tendencies and behaviours from your sheep or challenges in your sheepfold, don’t run away. Rather, bring out your weapon of faith and the power of your tongue and deal with the devil until you secure victory. You are more than a conqueror in Jesus Christ.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me with the Spirit of faith and boldness.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, honour my words that I speak over and against the forces of satan, sin and the world.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, give me power over the flesh and keep my spiritual life on fire for You.

I operate the weapons of faith and bold declaration as I lead my wife and children because that is what gives value to my headship as the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
