May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace. I always thank God for you and for the gracious gifts he has given you, now that you belong to Christ Jesus. Through him, God has enriched your church in every way-with all your eloquent words and all of your knowledge. This confirms that what I told you about Christ is true (1Cor.1:3-6).
God enriches the followers through their leaders. In the main text before us today, the Scripture says, through him, God has enriched your church in every way(1Cor.1:5b). God enriched the life of Rebekah through Isaac, her husband. God enriched Sarah through her husband, Abraham. God enriched the children of the Recabites through their fathers. And so, God wants to enrich your wife and children through you. God has made you the head of the family and blessed you with a wife and children so that the anointing that enriches lives can flow to them through you (Ps.133:2). You must understand that it took one man to bring sin to this world. His name was Adam, the husband of Eve. But it took one man to enrich humanity. His name is Jesus Christ. And because Jesus Christ is the perfect example of the good and godly husbandman and you have his nature in you, you are the catalyst in the lives of your wife and children.
But for you to walk in this truth, you need to be empowered by the Person of the Holy Spirit. The Scripture says that, not by power and not by might but my spirit says the Lord..(Zech.4:6). The reason you need supernatural empowerment is because of the forces of darkness that want to mess you up as the good and godly husbandman. So, one way you can activate spiritual empowerment is to pray in the Holy Ghost. Now, as you make yourself available to be a channel of enrichment to your wife and children, you will be the ultimate beneficiary of the blessings. The husbandman that laboureth shall be the first partaker of the fruits (2Tim.2:6). And he that waters others shall be watered also.
Your heritage as the head of your family is much more than meat and drink. It is far more precious than the clothes you wear. It is about being a positive influence in the lives of your wife, children and in the marketplace of life for God and for righteousness.
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, make me the pipe that conveys Your goodness to my wife and children.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, enrich my wife and children in every way possible.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, bless me and make me a blessing to my wife and children.
FAITH CONFESSION
I am a channel of enrichment to my wife and children and the world because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
