STIR UP YOUR FINANCIAL FREEDOM

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Deut.8:18

More Scriptures: 3Jn:2, Gen.12:2, Jn.10:10

Remember this-a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the ones who plants generously will get a generous crop. You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. For God loves a person who gives cheerfully. And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others. As the Scripture says, they share freely and give generously to the poor. Their good deeds will be remembered forever (2Cor.9:6-9)

One fundamental area God wants you to prosper in, as the head of the family, is your finances. God hates seeing you poor or begging or depending on people for hand-outs to meet your covenant demands in your family fold. How do I know? The book of 3rd John verse 2 says so. I wish above all things that you should prosper and be in health even as your soul prospers (3Jn:2). God is unhappy seeing the dishonourable position you occupy, where it is your wife that pays the rent or owns the house you live in, pays the children school fees and meets other financial obligations in the home. Infact, God is displeased that you have to be dependent on your parents, relations or friends for financial assistance. Your heavenly Father wants you to do something. God wants you to stir up your financial freedom. God wants you to activate the covenant of financial prosperity.

And the ways God wants you to activate your financial prosperity are these. Firstly, God wants you to work hard with your hands and mind because that is the channel He uses to bless you (Ps.1:3). Secondly, God wants you to be liberal and to give generously. This means giving your financial resources for the advancement of His work on earth and for the good of humanity. There is something to give, irrespective of the size. A lot of the times, what you give out of your scarce resource is a sacrifice. And when you learn to give generously, you commit God to bless you financially. The word of God tells us that there is he that gathereth yet tendeth to poverty but there is he that scattereth yet increaseth (Pro.11:24). That is the way to be empowered by God to be financially free and to have your needs met.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me with the giving grace to give of my money for the good of humanity, liberally.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to lay down my finances at Your feet.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, reward my financial giving speedily.

FAITH CONFESSION

I am blessed in my finances and I reflect the glory and prosperity of God in my family-fold and to the world because that is the will of God for me as the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.

Today’s devotion is the only time I feel the need to comment. To the world’s dad’s who are the primary caregiver of their family, you don’t need to be the one who makes money to be consider good and godly. Everyone knows, the work done at home for the family is just as much work as actually at work. The wife can earn a living. While husband takes care of the home. What is discouraged is an attitude of laziness when it comes to doing God’s work. This line of thought stems from men work and women stay home, which is a direct restriction of our free will. If your wife wants to work, and you feel that you can provide more appropriately for your family at home, I feel God would be proud of you husband’s who respect and love their wives.
