Then as I looked over the situation, I called together the nobles and the rest of the people and said to them, don’t be afraid of the enemy! Remember the Lord, who is great and glorious and fight for your brothers, your sons, your daughters, your wives and your homes (Neh.4:14)

Merry Christmas! I pray that the blessings of the season will manifest in your life and the lives of your wife and children in Jesus name. Amen. The joy of Christmas is that Jesus Christ is given to us to give humanity hope and restore man back to God. The Bible summarized it this way, I came that you may have life and have it more abundantly (Jn.10:10). That is why Jesus came, and that is why Nehemiah also came into the scene in Israel, and that is why God sent you into the lives of your wife and children.

As the Jesus and Nehemiah in the lives of your wife and children, the best thing you can offer your sheep is hope and assurance of a great future. In our main text today, inspite of the threat and fear the people of Israel had, Nehemiah said to his people, “don’t be afraid of the enemy”. The people needed to rebuild the temple of the Lord but it appeared that there were oppositions against this plan and the people were discouraged. But the leader stood firm and encouraged the people to move on and build. At the end of the day, the walls of Jerusalem were rebuilt. This is the same attitude God wants you to have as the shepherd over your wife and children. You must make them see light and victory in the midst of darkness.

However, you cannot inspire hope in the lives of your wife and children if you don’t have faith in your heart, inspired by the word of God. You must be a man who walks by faith and have tested the incredible power of God to motivate your wife and children to go forward, the obstacle notwithstanding. Faith comes by hearing and by hearing the word of God (Rom.10:17). Secondly, you must have experiential testimonies of the acts of God in your life which your wife and children are witnesses to. Jesus, the perfect example of the good and godly husbandman said that if you don’t believe in me, believe in the works that I do-testimonies.

Remember that you are the first pastor of your wife and children. God sent you into their lives to give them hope, direction, faith and rest because that is what makes you the good and godly husbandman. Therefore, make your life count positively for the good of your wife and children. Enjoy this season with your family.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to build myself on Your most holy faith.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, open my eyes to behold wondrous things out of the Book of life-Bible.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to speak boldly for the rescue of my wife and children.

FAITH CONFESSION

I am the good shepherd and I inspire faith, hope and confidence in my wife and children even as I lead my wife and children in good and green pastures as the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.

PRAYER FOR SPIRITUAL GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT: DAY 13 OF 70 (70 DAYS OF FASTING AND PRAYERS)

1. Father, in the Name of Jesus, pour out Your spirit afresh and continually in my life this year and beyond (Is.44:3).
2. Father, in the Name of Jesus, let the zeal for the things that please You consume me this year and beyond (Ps.69:9).
3. Father, in the Name of Jesus, baptize me with new wine to love You passionately (1Pet.4:8).
