THE KING AND HIS KINGDOM (1)

Bible Text: Mk.6:23-27, Eph.6:4, Ps.89:34-35

Few weeks ago, I was led by the Spirit of God to study the four (4) gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. And I have encountered revelation that has completely overhauled my person as the husbandman. It is one of the many insights I got from the word of God that I want to share with you today. It is the kingdom and its operations.

I had an understanding of a king, his kingdom and how it works. But recently, when I listened to the teachings of Dr. Myles Munroe on kingdom principles, my understanding of the subject matter increased.

And when the daughter of the said Herodias came in and danced and pleased Herod and them that sat with him, the king said unto the damsel, ask of me whatsoever thou wilt and I will give it thee. And he sware unto her, whatsoever thou shalt ask of me, I will give if thee unto the half of my kingdom. And she went forth and said unto her mother, what shall I ask? And she said, the head of John the Baptist. And straight away with haste unto the king and asked saying, I will that thou give me by and by in a charger the head of John the Baptist. And the king was exceeding sorry, yet for his oath’s sake and for their sakes which sat with him. He would not reject her (Mk.6:22-26)

When the king makes an oath, he does not reverse it. He fulfils it however costly it may be. The event in Mark chapter 6 confirms this truth. After Herodias had danced and the king was pleased, he promised to give her whatever she may want. She asked for John the Baptist’s head. The king was displeased with her request but he had to honour his promise. He gave her the head of John the Baptist.

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, establish my health and wellness in this year 2022 (1Chro.16:30)
