WORKING HINGES

Bible Texts: 2Cor.5:16-17, Jn.3:7, Gen.2:14, Matt.5:16

As a husband, you must appreciate that you are not just a hinge. You are a working hinge. I want you to take a moment and observe your door hinges. You will notice that the door swings almost effortlessly because it has working hinges. It is noiseless and free. That is what God has made every husband to be- a hinge upon which the sheep gains stability, strength and direction.

But for you to become a working hinge in the lives of your wife and children, you must be born again. In Jn.3, the word of God has this to say about the need for you to have a relationship with Jesus Christ. Jesus wants to have a deeper relationship with you. He wants something stronger than food, clothing and shelter from you. He desires to reenact the fellowship that the first husband, Adam, had with God prior to the fall in Gen.3. He longs to talk to you so that you can be useful to your wife and children.

Jesus answered, most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, YOU MUST BE BORN AGAIN (Jn.3:5-7).

Being born again is not a church doctrine. It is also not about denomination. It is all about fellowship with Jesus Christ, the perfect example of a good and godly husband. The life of Christ in you is the foundation you need to become a functional man, husband and father. You must have a relationship with Him to make any remarkable difference in the lives of your flock. When you accept Him as your Lord and personal Savior, He gives you power to become all of God to your wife, children and the world. If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature, old things have passed away behold all things have become new.

Prayer Focus: Prayer For Business (Day 68 of 70 Days)

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, fill me with uncommon wisdom for uncommon results in my business (Pro.8:28-30)
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, reveal to me what eyes have not seen, what ears have not heard concerning my area of business (1Cor.2:9)
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, make my business a reference point in all locations (1Thess.1:7)
