OPERATING IN THE SIXTH SENSE (1)

Spread the love

Bible Texts: Heb.11:1, 2Cor.4:18, Heb.11:6, Heb.11:33, Joel 3:10, Job 22:29, 2Cor.10:4, Heb.11:6

I welcome you to the month of May, 2022. I trust that the best of God is reserved for you this month in Jesus name. Amen. So, in the next few days, I will be sharing with you the master key to unlocking the power that gives you victory over the challenges of life, including the economic, social and political challenges currently facing the world. I encourage you to pay attention.

Operating in the sixth sense is your greatest heritage as the good and godly husbandman. But before we go into what the sixth sense is, let us consider some background knowledge about senses. In basic biology, we understand that there are five (5) senses. The sense of sight (eyes), the sense of smell (nose), the sense of taste (tongue), the sense of pain, (skin) and the sense of hearing (ears). These are the ways we identify with our environment. It is the natural sphere of man and has its limitations. But God wants you to operate beyond these five (5) senses. God wants you to operate the sixth sense because that is what connects you with the supernatural that gives you command of the natural as the good and godly man, husband and father. While we look not at the things which are seen but at the things which are not seen, for the things which are seen are temporal but the things which are not seen are eternal (2Cor.4:18).

But what is the sixth sense? It is faith. I mean faith in God.

For faith is the substance of hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Heb.11:1). If you and I must triumph in our journey unto perfection as godly husbandmen, then faith is a necessity for us. The circumstances around us can be frustrating. The insults you get from your wife or children, the disrespect and disloyal attitude of your sheep, the bitterness, anger, hatred and sometimes physical hurt can depress any husbandman. And sadly, this is what leads him to act irresponsible. But why faith?

Firstly, faith empowers you for overwhelming victories. By faith they shut the mouth of lions and by faith they subdued nation (Heb.11:33). The word of God admonishes you to walk in this light. Let the weak say I am strong and let the poor say I am rich (Joel 3:10). The Bible also tells us that, when they say there is a casting down, we shall say there is a lifting up (Job 22:29). So, activate your sixth sense and let it determine how you relate with and respond to your wife and children and the circumstances of life.

Secondly, faith is a weapon of warfare. You don’t fight the forces threatening to destroy your harmonious relationship with your wife and children by the arm of flesh. You fight them by the instrument of faith. For the weapon of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of every stronghold (2Cor.10:4).

Thirdly, faith is your access to the presence of God and fullness of His power. He that must come to God must first believe…(Heb.11:6). Faith in God and His word brings the power of God to bear in those areas of your life where you are having challenges. There is no challenge you may be having with your wife and children that the power of God cannot dissolve. What you need is to engage the weapon of faith.

But how do I develop my sixth sense?

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, increase my faith in You and Your word.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to lead my wife and children by faith and not by sight.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to overcome the challenges of life as I lead my wife and children.

FAITH CONFESSION

I walk by faith and not by sight in leading my wife and children and over the circumstances of life because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
