Bible Texts: Heb.11:1, Jos.1:8, Philp.3:10, Heb.11:6, Gal.2:2, Ezk.2:2, 1Cor.14:12, Eph.6:4
Yesterday, by the help of the Person of the Holy Spirit, we began to look at the sixth sense and how it is our greatest heritage as good and godly husbandmen. We also understood how powerful the sixth sense is as it will help us overcome the challenges we may be having with ourselves, and sheep. That faith in God is the weapon of our warfare as shepherds.
But the question is this. How do you grow and develop your faith?
You must understand that everything in life begins as a seed, and if it is nurtured, it becomes fruits. So, also is faith. Faith is a seed and God has planted that seed into you when you gave your life to Him. The first step to developing the God-kind of faith is for you to give your life to Jesus Christ. Salvation is a spiritual decision a man takes. You have not seen God or Jesus Christ physically but you believe Jesus Christ exists, and you are willing to repent of your sins and accept Him into your life as your Lord and personal saviour. That is faith!
The second step you must take is to feed the seed of faith in your heart with the word of God through studying and meditating. Your confidence in knowing that God can help you is rooted in your knowledge of Him. That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection…(Philip.3:10). You must invest your time to know God and what He is capable of by looking into the perfect law of liberty, your Bible. For this book of the law shall depart out of thy mouth but thou shall meditate on it day and night…….(Jos.1:6-8).
Thirdly, you must walk with the Person of the Holy Spirit. He is the One who inspires revelation from the pages of the Bible which gives you unusual faith in God. I went up by revelation……(Gal.2:2). The Holy Spirit brings the rhema of the word of God into your heart where faith is born. And the spirit entered into me when the Lord spake unto me (Ezk.2:2).
Fourthly, you must learn to speak in the language of the Spirit. I mean speaking in tongue. The Bible tells us that he that speak in an unknown tongue speak mysteries……(1Cor.14:12). Those negative and unpleasant happenings around your life and between you and your wife and children which you cannot explain can be tackled by the mysterious power of God through the Person of the Holy Ghost. I encourage you to speak in tongues as a lifestyle.
God wants you to live by faith. He wants you to sow the love seeds mentioned in 1Corinthians chapter 13 and verses 4 to 8 to your wife by faith. God wants you to nurture your children in the way and admonition of the Lord by faith (Eph.6:4). God wants you to relate with Him by faith (Heb.11:6). God wants you to lead your wife and children as the good and godly shepherd by faith and not by the circumstances around you or with them. That is what makes you the good and godly husbandman to yourself, your wife, children and the world.
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, increase my faith in You and Your word.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to lead my wife and children by faith and not by sight.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to overcome the challenges of life as I lead my wife and children.
FAITH CONFESSION
I walk by faith and not by sight in leading my wife and children and over the circumstances of life because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.

Great devotional but I do disagree with the statement about speaking in tongues…what you have said is not biblical in the aspect one must ” learn ” to speak in tongues in order to demonstrate some degree of growth or spirituality. Speaking in tongues is a gift from the holy spirit and it is for the demonstration of the presence of God to the unbeliever ( he that speaks tongues to him or herself only edifies themself…but tongues are to edify the body of Christ especially demonstrate to the unbeliever)… when tongues are spoken there must be an interpretor around….In other words , when tongues are spoken God will order it such that an interpretor will be in the vicinity to translate….Tongues is a gift from the holy spirit. Everyone cannot possess the same gift but still have an authentic walk with God…ie just because I want to sing Opera ( in my mind) doesn’t mean I can get on stage and actually sing it ( trust me I cannot sing)…You cannot will a gift into your life if God didn’t give that gift to you…Speaking in tongues is not a sign of authentication….it is simply a gift…some have that gift….some don’t…does not make you anymore or less than authentic..the order of tongues speaking is in the book of 1st Corinthians …
