Bible Texts: Gen.1:1-3, Jn.6:63, Is.43:26, Num.14:28, Heb.4:12, Jn.6:63, Jn.5:39
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and empty and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light” and there was light (Gen.1:1-3) NLT.
The opening passages of Scripture tell us how powerful our words could be. It shows us that if we keep saying what God says to that aspect of our lives as shepherds, we will see transformation and positive changes in and around our sheep and sheepfold. I want you to note that, “every word spoken by any husband on the basis of the word of God brings order into the lives of a chaotic wife, children and circumstances”. There is something I want to emphasize to you and that is, as the head of your family and the spiritual leader of your sheepfold, your most potent weapon you require to bring order into your life and the lives of your wife and children is the WORD OF GOD. For the word that I speak unto you they are spirit and they are life (Jn.6:63, Jn.5:39).
Now, consider this for a moment. In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth (Gen.1:1). Then, the earth was without form and void and darkness was upon the face of the deep and the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters (Gen.1:2).
What did God do after what He created suddenly became dark, void and shapeless? God spoke into the situation what He wanted to see. And GOD SAID, LET THERE BE LIGHT AND THERE WAS LIGHT (Gen.1:3)).
Have you noticed negatives disposition from your wife and children? Have you also observed that your wife and children are drifting away from good and godly path? Whatever it is that you see in and around your wife and children which is not consistent with the purpose and plan of God for them, you can recreate them. How? By the weapon of the word of God, And GOD SAID, LET there be light, and THERE WAS LIGHT. God spoke the word. He commanded a change. He did not beg the situation. He spoke what He wanted into the chaotic situation. And as He kept speaking to the dark circumstances, everything turned out to be not just good but very good. The Bible has set for you and I example. If we follow the footsteps of God, we will undoubtedly get the same results He got. You are the watchman over your wife, children and sheepfold. Keep saying it until you see God’s will established in your life, your wife and children and home.
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, sanctify my tongue to speak the right words to every negative challenge in and around my sheep and sheepfold.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, order the words of my mouth aright toward my wife and children.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver my tongue from speaking ungraceful and hurtful words.
FAITH CONFESSION
I have resolved, by the grace of God at work in me to speak pleasant words from the word of God to my wife and children in all things and at all times because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
