EXERCISE YOUR AUTHOURITY UNTO GODLINESS

Spread the love

Bible Texts: Gen.1:26-28, Lk.10:19, Gen.32:28, Jn.3:3, Jn.8:32, 2Cor.5:17, Rev.12:10-11

The question of your empowerment by God is important to your success as the godly man, husband, and father. You must understand why God made you the head. You must also understand why God commanded you to lead your wife and children. Because if you do not know the reason for the authority God has given to you as the head of your family, you will abuse the privileges. A lot of husbandmen have abused their sheep physically, mentally and emotionally in the name of exercising their authority. Others have become tyrants to their sheep, while some shepherds have created a wall between them and their sheep. That is not what God wants for you. That is not the reason why you have been so empowered by the Spirit of God.

But why did God make you a ruler over your wife and children and in what areas does God want you to exercise your godly authority? So, God created man in his own image and in the image of God created him….. and God blessed them and God said unto them be fruitful, and multiply and replenish the earth and subdue it and have dominion over…(Gen.1:26-29).

As the head of your family and the spiritual authority in your family fold, God wants you to be a blessing to your wife and children but have dominion over every negative influence, temptation or landmine that satan may want to or have set for you, your wife and children. From the day God made you the head, He put inside you His authority and dominion over satan, sin and the world (Gen.1:26-29, Lk.10:19). You are not to molest and harass your wife and children. Instead, you are to confront those foxes that want to destroy your sweet relationship with your wife and children, the health and well-being of your sheep and so much more. That is your authority. That is the ministry of the godly husbandman.

But how do I fulfill the call of God upon my life as the good and godly husbandman, full of power and dominion? The first step is for you to make it right with Jesus Christ by accepting Him as your Lord and Saviour. Jesus Christ has conquered the grave and satan. He is the vine, and you are the branches. It is your connection to Him that gives you access to the flow of His power (Jn.3:3, 2Cor.5:17). The second step is for you to walk in the consciousness that Jesus Christ has made you a victor. And you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free (Jn.8:32). You must know that the authourity God has given you is not to make you a tyrant to your wife and children but to use it to challenge satan, sin and the world.

God wants you to exercise your authourity in righteousness and be like Jesus Christ to your wife and children and to keep your family fold safe and secured.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, I ask that You forgive me for abusing my wife and children.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to walk in the consciousness of Your power in my life.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to live a victorious life over satan’s traps.

FAITH CONFESSION

I have the authority of Jesus Christ and I exercise such power over every ungodliness and works of satan, sin and the world because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
