THE CHEQUE IS GOOD FOR PAYMENT

Spread the love

Bible Texts: Acts 19:12-14, Matt.5:14-16, Ps.1:1-3, 2Tim.2:15, Ps.23:1, Eph.5:25, Jos.24:15, Eph.6:4, Col.3:7-9, Rom.12:21, Deut.6:5-7, Job 1:1-3

If you are familiar with how banks work, the phrase “good for payment” will not sound strange. Now let me explain briefly how it works. If you have an account with a bank or you are walk-in-customer who wants to cash a cheque, the bank officer will want to validate the cheque. The cheque instrument will pass from one officer or process to another until it gets to the final person. This final officer verifies and confirms that the cheque is good for payment. Only then will you be paid. All these processes are carried out by bank to ensure that only the rightful person is paid.

This is how your life should be as the godly husbandman. As the good shepherd over your wife and children that God has committed into your hands, you must prove that you are indeed who you say you are, the valid and genuine bank cheque – the godly man, godly husband and godly father. Your wife and children and the world must validate that you are indeed the good and godly husbandman. Reading Acts of the Apostle chapter 19 gives you a clear understanding that your wife and children know whether or not you are the godly husbandman. Satan even knows. Your family members and friends know. You cannot pretend. It is either you are the godly husbandman or you are not.

So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons and the diseases departed from them and the evil spirits went out of them. Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus , saying , we adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth. And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew and chief of the priests, which did so. And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know, but who are you (Acts 19:12-14). So, the question that you must ask today is this, does your wife and children know you as the good and godly shepherd? Can those around me testify that I am the good and godly leader in my sheepfold? Can God testify that I am like Him to my wife, children and the world (Matt.5:14-16, Job.1:1-3)? You must not concern yourself with how much entitlement you deserve from your sheep, rather you must focus on what you must do to be validated as the godly shepherd.

These are the things you must do to be validated and be approved by God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost, your wife, children and the world. The first is that you must allow Jesus Christ and His words to increase in you. The more you allow Jesus Christ to have His way in your life and in all that you do, the quicker you get over the tendencies to live a deceitful life. Secondly, you must give yourself to the demands of prayer with fasting and word study. These spiritual exercises will help you to access the power of God that will empower you to think like Christ would, to act like Christ would and to conduct your words like Christ would, thereby making you to live as the good and godly shepherd.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

FAITH CONFESSION

I am good for payment for the good of my wife and children because I am under the influence of Jesus Christ, the perfect example of the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
