FULFILLING GOD’S PURPOSE FOR YOUR LIFE (1)

Spread the love

Bible Texts: Gen.2:14-25, Ps.1:3, Acts 1:1, Acts.10:36, 1Tim.5:8, 2Tim.2:6, Matt.5:14-16, Deut.6:5, Jn.5:17

Every product that a manufacturer produces is for a purpose. The cars, the airplanes, the toothpaste, and many more that you see around are all created by a person, company or organization for a purpose. They are not accidental creations. The same applies to you and I. We did not make ourselves as husbandmen. God made us and for specific purposes to the end that we bring glory and praise to His name, our wife and children (Matt.5:14-16).

So, by the help of the Person of the Holy Spirit, we would be looking at the Bible to find out why God created you and what He wants you to fulfill as the good and godly husbandman.

Now, the first reason why God made you the husbandman is for you to dwell in His presence. And after God made man, He took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden (Gen.2:15). Eden represents the presence of God. God made you so that you can have fellowship with Him continuously. God wants you to have uninterrupted communication with Him. Therefore, if you are not born again and accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Personal Saviour, today is the right time to make the decision. A relationship with God through Jesus Christ is the reason for your existence and that is where you find joy, happiness and fulfilment. And that is why the Bible commands you to love the Lord with all your heart, with all your might, with all your soul and with all your body (Deut.6:5).

The second reason why God made you the good and godly husbandman is to work. And God took the man he hath made and put him in the Garden to dress and keep it (Gen.2:15b). God wants you to work with your mind and hands. Honestly, there is no alternative to work. Do you know why you are created to work? God will bless you through the work of your hands. …And whatsoever he doeth shall prosper (Ps.1:3b). God, Jesus Christ and the Person of the Holy Spirit are all workers. Jesus speaking said, my father worketh, so I work (Jn.5:17). And in Acts chapter 1 and verse 1, the Word of God testifies of Jesus Christ, who began both to do and teach (Acts 1:1). There is dignity and honour when you work. Your wife, children and the world respects and honours you when you work and become fruitful.

The reason the husbandman has not fully made the most of his leadership is because he doesn’t know why he was created. And like a wise man said, when purpose is not known abuse is inevitable. You are not just filling space in your sheepfold and in the lives of your wife and children. There are tasks that God wants you to accomplish. And that is what you must intentionally know, pursue and act on, if indeed you want to become the good and godly husbandman.
