Yesterday, the Person of the Holy Spirit helped us to understand the purpose God wants us to fulfill as good and godly husbandmen. I pray in the name of Jesus that you and I will fulfill the purpose why God made us to lead our wife and children. Amen.
Let’s continue from where we stopped yesterday.
The third purpose God wants you to fulfill is to nurture your wife and children. When God put the man He created in the Garden of Eden, He told him something remarkable that the man must do. And God put the man He hath created in the Garden to dress it and to keep it (Gen.2:15). I want you to note the phrase, to dress it. God will never give you a finished wife or children. Your wife and children come in their raw state. It is the will of God for you to dress them until they become all that God wants them to be. In Ephesians chapter 6 and verse 4, the Word of God says this. Fathers, provoke not your children to wrath but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord (Eph.6:4). Your children are born innocent so that through you they can become what God wants them to be. Your role is to nurture them, dress them and make them become the seeds that the Lord has blessed (Is.61:9). You must teach your children. You must guide them. You must motivate and inspire them. You must lead them. That is the way you can help them fulfill purpose.
Your wife was never perfect. So, don’t think you married a perfect woman. The day your wife entered into your home begins the journey for you to dress her up until she looks and behaves like the perfect woman you have in your head. Husbands, love thy wife as Christ hath loved the church……..that he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word……that he might present it to himself a glorious church not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing but that it should be holy and without blemish….so men ought to love thy wife…..(Eph.5:25-28). The wife you present to yourself is the wife you made. If you don’t like what you see in your wife, nurture her so that she becomes the beautiful and attractive woman you desire. God sent you to your wife as a transformational agent. God wants you to dress her up by the word of God so that she comes out without blemish, spot or wrinkle. It is the evidence that you love your wife as Christ has loved the Church.
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, teach me how to function as the good and godly man to my wife and children.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus , teach me how to function as the good and godly husband to my wife.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, teach me how to function as the good and godly father to my wife and children.
FAITH CONFESSION
I am made in the image and likeness of God and I take responsibility to function as the man, husband and father to my wife and children because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
