STAND UPON YOUR WATCH AND PRAISE

Spread the love

Bible Texts: Hab.2:1-3, Lk.18:1, Jer.33:3, 3Jn.:2, Gal.4:19, Matt.7:7, Jer.29:11, Jn.5:39, Mk.9:29, Eph.1:18, Gen.2:18, Is.61:9

I will stand upon my watch and set me upon the tower and I will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I will answer when I am reproved. And the Lord answered me and said, write the vision and make it plain upon tables that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak and not lie, though it tarry, wait for it because it will surely come, it will not tarry (Hab.2:1-3)

Today’s message is to encourage the good and godly husbandman to hold on to God and His promises. It is to assure the husbandman that God will come through for him.

So, let’s start!

As the good and godly husbandman, are there prayers you have prayed for your wife and children that you have not yet seen the answers? Are there positive expectations you had secretly wished for your wife and children that are yet to crystallize? Have your wife and children remained stubborn, rebellious and disrespectful despite all your advices, encouragements and supports? Does it seem you are losing or about to lose hope on your wife and children? Are you getting suggestions from friends and family members that your wife and children are irredeemable? Or, is the devil telling you that you are wasting your time, hoping that your wife and children would change, positively? Whatever it may be, God is coming through for you and you will smile. Everything God has said about your wife and children in His word which you have prayed about and believed will speak. Just wait!

Yes, wait! God, who said that your wife is your help meet (Gen.2:14-18). He did not lie. God said that your children are blessed seeds (Is.61:9). He did not lie. God meant well for you and has the best plans for your life as the head of your family. So, it doesn’t matter the negative reports coming from your flock’s behaviour, do not be discouraged.

But what do I do while waiting for the changes I want to see in my wife and children? Praise! Yes, intense praise to God. In praises, you are not likely to miss it. In praises, you invite the presence of God into your situation. This is what King Jehoshaphat did in First Chronicles chapter 20. Three nations came against him and his people in war. He did not know what to do because he was overwhelmed by the strength of the enemies. But as he engaged the weapon of praise, God stepped in and gave him victory.

Jesus Christ, the perfect example of the good and godly husbandman, used this strategy of praise. Jesus was a man of prayer. He was a man who moved mountains by prayers but when it came to the case of Lazarus, he did something differently. He praised God. He did the same thing when He had to feed 5,000 and 3,000 people at different times, when there was little meal available.

Therefore, in the next few days, praise God intensely and stay on your watch because He is coming through for you. Halleluyah!!!

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me with the spirit of praise.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from the spirit of heaviness and discouragement.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, come through for me in my praise and help me speedily.

FAITH CONFESSION

I engage the power of genuine praise to God for a quick turnaround for my life, wife and children because that is what guarantees my success as the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
