BE YE TRANSFORMED, FIRST (2)

Spread the love

Bible Texts: 1Thess.3:10, 1Tim.5:8, 1Thess.4:11-12, Rom.12:1-3, Philp.3:13-14, 1Sam.2:6, Heb.7:12, Lk.15:22, Matt.6:22, Philip.4:8, Ps.51:10, Matt.5:14-16

Ye are the salt of the earth, but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick and IT GIVETH LIGHT UNTO ALL THAT ARE IN THE HOUSE. Let your light so shine before me, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven (Matt.5:13-16) KJV

Yesterday, by the Help of the Person of the Holy Spirit, you and I understood that we are change agents to our wife, children and the world. And that any change we desire to see happen in the lives of our wife and children must begin with us because we are the change that triggers the change our wife and children want to make.

Today, let us consider how you can become the transformed good and godly husbandman. The first prove that you are the transformed husbandman is when you take responsibility of providing for your wife and children. In 1Timothy chapter 5 and verse 8, the word of God says, any man that cannot provide for his family is worse than an infidel (1Tim.5:8). And in 1Thess.3:10, the Bible says, he that does not work must not eat (1Thess.3:10).

In 1 Thessalonians chapter 4 and verse 11, the Bible gives an insight in the benefit of work. And that ye study to be quiet and to do your own business, and to work with your hands, as we command you. That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without and that ye may have lack of nothing (1Thess.4:11-12).  As the good and godly husbandman, one of the proofs that confirm that you are a transformed shepherd is that you work, earn a living and give your earnings towards the care of your wife, children and home and to those who may not have.

God is the great provider. Jesus Christ is also a great provider. And because you are made in God’s image and likeness, you have the capacity to provide the spiritual, financial, material, emotional, physical and mental needs of your wife and children. God wants you to represent Him well in your home, as you lead your life, wife and children. He has provided all you will require to succeed as the good and godly man, husband and father. All you need to do is to partner with Him and trust Him to empower you to fulfill your covenant obligations as the good shepherd (Deut.8:18).

And as you behold the word of God in your leadership role, meditate on the word and act on the word, you will discover that you are changed from glory to glory (2Cor.3:18). Therefore, your glory as the good and godly husbandman begins with a transformation from within you.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, make me a better husbandman to my wife and children.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from spiritual and physical complacency.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, give me the power to take full delivery of my position as the good and godly husbandman.

FAITH CONFESSION

I have power with God and by the power of God at work in my life, I perform all my responsibilities to my wife and children because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
