I have been privileged to speak with some husbandmen in my little journey as a minister of the gospel. And I observed that most of them that are having challenges functioning as good and godly man, husband and father are not happy with their lifestyle. They genuinely want to be godly men, husbands and fathers to their wives, children and their societies. Many have good intentions but that has not translated into practical results. Some have promised not to physically or emotionally abuse their wives yet they fall into the trap of battering their wives. Others have promised not to commit adultery with another woman yet they find themselves going back to their vomit. Many more are helpless and have given up hope that anything good and godly can happen between them and their wife and children. Their heart is willing to do what is right and godly but their flesh is weak to follow through.
Did you know it is so? It is for lack of supernatural empowerment, which only God gives by the power of the Holy Ghost.
But as many as received him, to them GAVE THEM POWER TO BECOME the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.; which were born, not of blood , nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man but of God. And the word was made flesh and dwelt among us and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth (Jn.1:12-14)
As the husbandman who wants to live a good and godly life, you need the power of God to become it. You cannot succeed by your skill, wisdom or strength. The word of God says this. It is not by power nor by might but by the Spirit of God (Zech.4:6). It is the Spirit of God that energizes your life to do what is right from God’s word and obey all of His commandments. Infact, the Spirit of God is what you need to live the life that God wants you to live as the good and godly man, husband and father. The good news is that you have that power with God (Mic.3:8).
For you to access this power, you must deepen your relationship with the Person of Jesus Christ, who has all you need to become the good and godly husbandman (Jn.1:12, 2Cor.5:17). It is in Jesus Christ that you have your being and existence (Jn.15:3-5). Secondly, you must travail on the prayer altar continually until the change you want to see occur (Lk.18:1, Gal.4:19). The prayer of faith changes all things (Heb.11:2). Thirdly, you must be steadfast in your pursuit to do the perfect will of God and not be distracted by satan, sin and the world (Matt.6:22). You must meditate on the truth from the Word of God until your faith is built up (Jos.1:6-8).
You have power with God to become all that He wants you to be as the good and godly man, husband and father. Walk in that light!
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me by Your Spirit to become all that you want me to be as the good and godly husbandman.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to manifest the full authority of my headship.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to obtain results as I lead my life, wife and children.
FAITH CONFESSION
I am empowered by the Spirit of God and I walk in that authority to fulfill my ministry as the good and godly man, husband and father in Jesus name. Amen.
