WHAT MAKES YOU THE GODLY HUSBANDMAN (4)

Spread the love

Bible Texts: Jos.24:14-15, Jer.31:32, 1Cor.13:4-8, Eph.6:4, 1Tim.3:2-5, Lk.10:19, Eph.5:25, Lk.18:1, Mk.9:27-29, 1Pet.3:7, Ps.24:1-3, 1Thess.5:8, Jer.35:6

By the grace of God, I am convinced that you have been inspired, motivated and empowered in the last three days of this series. I pray that the encounters shall last you a life time thereby making you the good and godly husbandman, bringing glory to Jesus Christ, your wife, children and the world, in Jesus name. Amen and amen.

Today, let us consider the last attribute that makes the good and godly husbandman. It is self-esteem. What does this mean? It means having confidence in your ability and your self-worth because of who you are in God through Jesus Christ. And boldness is what empowers you to be steadfast in the pursuit of God’s plans and purposes for your life, wife and children.

As the husbandman, you must understand that until you believe that you can succeed as the man, husband and father, it would be very difficult to function in the roles. Infact God becomes helpless to help you if you think He cannot. If thou shalt say in thine heart, these nations are more than I, how can I dispossess them? (Deut.7:17). Challenges would come in the course of leading your life, wife and children but it takes your self confidence in God to overcome the challenges. If you do not have your confidence intact, you will listen to wrong advices and be misled to take wrong decisions that will hurt God and your wife and children.

But how do I become a self-confident husbandman and grow in it?

The first step is for you to acknowledge and believe that God sent you to lead your wife and children. He made you their head (Gen.2:7-8, Eph.5:23, Eph.6:4). So, you must allow this truth to gain entrance into your spirit man and you must walk in this consciousness. Secondly, you must study the word of God to know the truth and your rights in Christ Jesus, as the good shepherd (Jn.8:30-32). It is often said that knowledge is power, and the application of knowledge is superior. Study to show thyself approved as a workman who is not ashamed of the gospel but rightly dividing the word of truth (2Tim2:15). The more you know about God’s expectation of you as the godly man, husband and father, the more empowered you become to function confidently in that capacities.

Thirdly, you must have the big picture of the plans of God for your life and for your wife and children, always in front of you and stay at it. Let thy eyes be single and the whole body will be full of light (Matt.6:22). When you have the big picture before you, you will easily forgive your wife and children. You will take delight in serving your wife and children with your time, money, skills, and your body.

God has made you the husbandman to succeed as the godly man, husband and father. You have the power to become the godly husbandman in all things through Christ that strengthens you. You are more than just a shepherd. You are the good and godly husbandman. Make it count.
