Bible Texts: 2Tim.2:14-15, Jn.8:32-33, Rom.8:1, Eph.5:25-29, 1Pet.3:7-9, Matt.19:5, Rom.12:1-3, Eph.5:25, 1Cor.13:4-7, Rom.5:5, Philp.4:8, Eph.6:4, 1Pet.5:8,
Have you ever worked with a blunt knife, scissor or hoe? If you have, you will understand that it comes with so much struggle and effort and frustration when put to use. It is not that the object is bad in itself; it is because it has not been maintained by sharpening it regularly, especially after use. So, it is with every husbandman. And that is an aspect I would like to teach today.
Keep reminding God’s people of these things. Warn them before God against quarreling about works. It is of no value and only ruins those who listen. Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed ad who correctly handles the word of truth (2Tim.14-15) NIV
As the good and godly husbandman, if you do not sharpen your saw of authority, it will be very difficult for you to retain your usefulness in leading your life, wife and children and you will keep having strained and unhealthy relationships with your wife and children.
What then is your saw of authority? It is knowledge. Study to show thyself approved as a workman who is not ashamed but rightly dividing the word of truth (2Tim.2:15). The Scripture admonishes you to strengthen your call as the priest, pastor, bishop and prophet over your wife and children and even your life, through the continuous study both of the word of God and other anointed materials. In John chapter 8 and verses 32-33, the Word of God says, and you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free (Jn.8:32-33). The more you know the word of God for your life and you keep it at in your heart and commit to doing them, the stronger and more fruitful you will be as the good and godly husbandman.
But how do you sharpen your saw? You must begin a new relationship with the Person of Jesus Christ by accepting Him into your life as your Lord and Saviour (Jn.3:3-6). You must also give attention to studying the Bible and meditating on it day and night, as a way of life (Jn.8:32, Jos.1:6-8, Ps.1:1-3). You must daily crave to want to know more about Jesus Christ and what He represents as the good and godly husbandman. You must never get to a point in your life when you assume you know too much or you know it all. You must never be comfortable with where you are and with the knowledge that you have. If you do, you will become like the blunt saw that is put to work. You must invest your time and money to buy and read books on sports, health, food, nutrition, sexuality, finances and much more. This will help you broaden your scope about other areas of human endeavours that will help you to be useful to your life, wife, children and to the world.
Keep sharpening your saw of authority. It is your access to becoming the good and godly husbandman.

FAITH CONFESSION
