Fear thou not, for I am with thee ……..yea I will help thee…For I thy Lord will hold your thy right hand, saying unto thee, fear not, I will help thee. Fear not, thou worm of Jacob, and ye men of Israel, I will help thee (Is.41:10-14).
Rejoice, again I say rejoice (Philp.4:4)
HUSBANDS ARE SEED-BEARING AGENTS
Main Scriptures: Gen.2:14-18
More Scriptures: Matt.5:16, Matt.6:22, Is.61:9
Few weeks ago, the Person of the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart. He said, “Everything that flows out of a husband in the direction of his wife and children is a seed”. And this is what I want to share with you today.
As a husband and the head of your family, whatever you do or say or even give to your wife and children is a seed. When you speak right words to your flock, you have sown good seeds into their lives. When you pray for them, you have sown a seed. When you give them your time, you have sown a seed. When you teach them godly values, you have sown a seed. If you also do not pray for them or invest your time or teach them right values, you have also sown a seed. Either way, the seeds will grow into a harvest. This is very important because as the head of your family, your joy and crown lies in the harvest your flock manifest.
In Gen.2:14-18, the Scripture used two words to describe the seed-bearing and seed-carrying nature of husbands. And the Lord God took the man and put him into the Garden of Eden to DRESS it and KEEP it. Note the words dress and keep. As a seed bearing agent, your life is either dressing and keeping your flock or undressing and scattering your flock. Therefore, you must be very careful how you live and relate with your wife and children.
However, you cannot sow good seeds into the lives of your wife and children without the word of God dwelling richly in you. The word of God is a seed. When it is sown in the heart of a man, it frames his speech, conduct and action. And out of him will flow the riches of the fruits of the word to others. Jesus speaking said, let your light so shine before me that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven (Matt.5:16).
You must also contend with the power and force of distraction. Sometimes the attitude of your flock may want to make you utter ungodly words or even stop you praying for them. But you must remain focused in sowing the right seeds. For if thy eyes be single, thy whole body will be full of light (Matt.6:22).
And as you walk in this understanding, it shall be said, these are the seeds that the Lord has blessed (Is.61:9).
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, by Your Spirit, pour upon me the spirit of diligent study of Your word.
- Father, by the power in the blood of Jesus Christ, deliver me from every trap of weariness and distraction.
- Father, by the power in the blood of Jesus Christ, empower me to remain focused in sowing good and godly seeds.
FAITH CONFESSION
I take responsibility to sow good and godly seeds into the lives of my wife and children because that is what makes me a good and godly husband in Jesus name. Amen.
