THE LAW OF REPETITION (16)

Spread the love

Fear thou not, for I am with thee ……..yea I will help thee…For I thy Lord will hold your thy right hand, saying unto thee, fear not, I will help thee. Fear not, thou worm of Jacob, and ye men of Israel, I will help thee (Is.41:10-14).

Rejoice, again I say rejoice (Philp.4:4)

LET THE HOLY SPIRIT LEAD YOU

Main Scriptures: Romans 8:10-14

More Scriptures: Jn.14:26, Jn.16:13, Gal.5:18

Only husbands who are led by the Spirit of God can understand and obey the instructions of God. And only husbands who are led by God qualify as sons of God. This is the admonition for a husband reading this devotional today.

As the head of the family, you must be guided by the Spirit of God if you desire to any meaningful impact in your family kingdom. In Jn.14:26, the Scriptures say but the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, HE SHALL TEACH YOU ALL THINGS, AND BRING ALL THINGS TO YOUR REMEMBRANCE, WHATSOEVER I HAVE SAID  (Jn.14:26).

As the spiritual leader of your family, the decisions you take concerning your wife and children and in all other areas are very critical to the survival of your position as the head. And this is the more reason why you must walk and work with the Person of the Holy Spirit.

You are limited by nature. You cannot know all things and everything, whether it has to do with the school your children should attend, the hospitals you should take your flock to, the journeys your wife or children should embark on, the kind of businesses you should get yourself into, or even the place to live. It is your limitation as the leader of your family that has made the Holy Spirit very important to you.

Some of the unpleasant things that you do to your wife and children is due to ignorance. For instance, in 1Pet.3:7-9, the Word of God says that husbands should deal with their wives according to knowledge. What knowledge? It is the knowledge of your wife and God from the word of God. So if the Holy Spirit does not teach and reveal to you the knowledge of God and your wife and even children, you may find yourself dealing treacherously with them (Mal.2:14) and unknowingly disobeying the instructions and commandments of God.

As the husband of the family, when you allow the Holy Spirit to lead you, it will become easier for you to delightfully obey all His instructions. You will not see your wife or children as concerns or necessary evils. When the Holy Spirit leads you, you cannot take wrong decisions about your wife and children and in any area of your endeavor.

However, for you to enjoy His partnership, you must develop the attitude of asking for His opinion about everything you want to do. And you do this through the platform of prayers (Matt.7:7).

Learn to make the Person of the Holy Spirit your senior partner and sincerely consult with Him on the way forward and you will be amazed how refreshing your relationship will be with God, your wife and children.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, by the Spirit of God, lead me in every step and decision that I take concerning my flock.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from the power and spirit of pride and fear.
  • Father, by Your Spirit, heal my ears and eyes to hear when You speak and to see when You show me things.

FAITH CONFESSION

I am led by the Spirit of God and will do His will to my flock because that is what makes me a good and godly husband in Jesus name. Amen.
