Spread the love

Fear thou not, for I am with thee ……..yea I will help thee…For I thy Lord will hold your thy right hand, saying unto thee, fear not, I will help thee. Fear not, thou worm of Jacob, and ye men of Israel, I will help thee (Is.41:10-14).

Rejoice, again I say rejoice (Philp.4:4)

BREAKING DEADLY EVIL PATTERNS (1)

Main Scriptures: Genesis 12:13-15

More Scriptures: Gen.26:7, Gen.26:1, Rom.5:9

There are evil patterns that have trailed husbands from generation to generation. These evil patterns include but not limited to premature death, terminal diseases such as diabetes, barrenness, incest, that is sleeping with a close relation, armed robbery, adultery, and stagnation in business and career, divorce, accidents and much more.

Are you a husband reading this devotional today and it appears you have noticed some patterns that seem to be happening to you which had occurred with your father, it is time to break away from such patterns and set a new course for your family and the generation ahead of you.

Let us look at some husbands that suffered evil patterns in the Bible. Sarah’s husband, Abraham was one of them. He suffered famine in Gen.12:10, his son Isaac suffered such pattern in Gen.26:1. Abraham’s marriage was threatened by the king, Pharaoh in Gen.12:15, his son suffered the same attack from the king in Gen.26:9. Abraham lied about his marriage vow by saying that his wife was his sister in Gen.12:12-13. His son Isaac also followed the same pattern in Gen.26:7. Abraham suffered barrenness; his son Isaac also experienced the same challenge.

Another husband who experienced evil patterns is David. He was the husband of Abigail. He committed adultery with Bethsheba. His son Solomon had the same experience because he had 300 wives and 700 concubines.

As the head of the family, it is very important for you to take a look at your life and see if there are things happening right now that happened with your father. The Scriptures say that no other foundation can we build except the foundation of Christ (1Cor.3:11). And in another breath, the Word of God says that if the foundation be destroyed what can the righteous do (Ps.11:3-7).

Some parents have built a faulty foundation for their sons who eventually grow up to become husbands. As the torch bearer of your family and a leading light in your home, it is very important to appreciate the need for a right foundation. Our actions and inactions as the head of our families do not only have a present consequences, it also have posterity effect.
