THE LAW OF REPETITION (27)

Spread the love

Fear thou not, for I am with thee ……..yea I will help thee…For I thy Lord will hold your thy right hand, saying unto thee, fear not, I will help thee. Fear not, thou worm of Jacob, and ye men of Israel, I will help thee (Is.41:10-14).

Rejoice, again I say rejoice (Philp.4:4)

CHARACTER AND CONSISTENCY

Main Scriptures: Job 31:1-7

More Scriptures: Jas.1:7, Jer.11:12, Rom.12:21

One of my mentors in the Bible is Job. Each time I study his life and testimonies, I understand the power and blessings of being a husband and father. When you read the Book of Job, you will see a husband who defied the odds, stood for righteousness, and maintain his character. At the height of his challenges when he was advised to curse God and die, he refused and stood firm on his faith in God. That is what God expects from every husband.

God does not desire a husband who is unstable in character- a husband who changes his shifts on righteous position- and compromises when it is obvious that he stands to gain much. The Scripture says of him, I will wait on God until my change comes (Job 14:14). The Book of James said that an unstable man may receive from man but he can never receive from the Lord (Jas.1:6-7).

As a leader and the spiritual head of your family kingdom, you must understand that your life and conduct both in the secret and in the open must speak louder than your message. When you maintain consistency in godly character, you earn the trust of the people and create goodwill for your flock.

The mistake most leaders make is to think that life starts and ends with them, their wives and children. God has made you a trans-generational agent of blessings (Gen.12:1-3). What this means is that beyond you, your wife and children the world shall enjoy the fruits of your consistent manifestation of the God-kind of life.

But how do I maintain consistency in good and godly character to the extent that my wife and children and my close relations and those I relate with from time to time can vouch for my integrity?

Firstly, you must be visionary. What this means is that you must always have the future in view and be posterity conscious (Jer.1:11-12). Secondly, you must model humanity and identify with the limitations of your wife, children and those around you. Thirdly, you must model an anchored life where you live from the point of view of character and not emotions. This means that you bring your body under (Rom.12:21).

You must understand that what makes you the head of your family are the righteous deeds that you are known for. You must continue to strive for godliness in all that you do. You must work and walk in righteousness in your family life, your relationships with people around you. You must maintain steadfastness and focus in living out the word of God for you as the good and godly husbandman through and through.

SPIRIRUAL EXERCISE

•           Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from living a double life.

•           Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to live a consistent godly character.

•           Father, in the Name of Jesus, let the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable to You and bring light to others.

FAITH CONFESSION

I overcome the desires of my flesh by His blood and live a life that is consistent with the word of God because that is what makes me a good and godly husband to my wife, children and others in Jesus name. Amen.
