CREATING A NEW BEGINNING (2)

Spread the love

Bible Texts: Gen.1:1-3, Matt.5:14-16, Gen.12:1-3, Rom.8:19, Matt.16:19, Jer.1:10-11

Yesterday, we began the year by unveiling six (6) key areas that God wants you and I to create and measure ourselves with this year, to the end that we become the good and godly husbandmen.

Today, let us consider what it takes to create a new beginning.

In Philippians chapter 2, the Word of God tells us that it is God who empowers us to will and to do His good pleasure.

For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure (Philp.2:13). Without the help of God, you and I cannot fulfill the desire to create a new beginning that will help us live a life well-pleasing to God, because according to the word of God, without Him we can do nothing.

So the first step to receiving the ability to creating a glorious new beginning is to accept Jesus Christ into your life as your Lord and savior. This means that you repent of your sins and start a new relationship with Jesus Christ. In 2nd Corinthians chapter 5 and verse 17, the Bible says, therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature, old things have passed away, behold all things are become new (2Cor.5:17).

Secondly, you join a Bible believing church where the undiluted word of God is taught in truth and in Spirit and your soul can be edified. The Bible says, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is, but exhorting one another and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching (Heb.10:25).

Thirdly, you must give attention to a life of personal study of the Bible, giving attention to and obeying all the commandments. Search the Scriptures, for in it ye think ye have life (Jn.5:39). The more you search the Bible, the more you understand the perfect will of God for you as the good and godly husbandman. And as it is written, ye shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free (Jn.8:32).

Fourthly, you must engage the twin forces of prayer and fasting for empowerment and to destroy any form of limitations that may be on your path. A lot of the times, the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak but as you pray and fast, you are able to destroy the root of weakness in your life. This kind goeth not forth except by prayer and fasting (Mk.9:29).

God wants you to be the good and godly man, husband and father. God wants you to be a blessing to yourself, your wife, children and the world. God wants you to represent Him righteously in your home and in the market place of life. But you must be willing and obedient if you want to enjoy the fullness of the blessings of being the good and godly husbandman.
