YOU ARE A SEEKER OF GOOD AND A SAVIOUR

Bible Texts: Lk.19:9-10, Jn.10:9-10, Mk.9:29, Rev.12:11, Heb.11:2, Heb.11:33, Gal.5:19-21, 3Jn.:2

And Jesus said unto him, this day is salvation come to this house for somuch as he also is a son of Abraham. For the SON OF MAN IS COME TO SEEK AND TO SAVE THAT WHICH WAS LOST (Lk.19:9-10).

Remember that man was made in the image and likeness of God and had uncontestable dominion (Gen.1:26-28). Unfortunately, he sinned against God when he disobeyed God’s instructions and consequently lost all the dominion and authority he hitherto enjoyed (Gen.3:1-10).  Thankfully, God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son as a rescue for mankind (Jn.3:16).

And from the above Bible passage in Luke Gospel chapter 19, Jesus says what He came to do. Jesus Christ said, for He came to SEEK and to SAVE that which is lost (Lk.19:10).

That is exactly why you are in the lives of your wife and children. You are a recovery agent and a saviour. God has sent you to them to seek and to save what may have been lost in their lives.

As the good and godly husbandman, what exactly are the things you must seek in the lives of your wife and children? God wants you to seek and pursue peace between you and your wife and children. You must resist whatever is threatening the peaceful atmosphere in your home or wants to steal the harmonious relationships you have with your wife and children. God wants you to seek the good of your wife and children. Jesus speaking says, I came that ye may have life and have it more abundantly (Jn.10:10b). Even God wishes above all things that you prosper and be in health even as your soul prospers (3Jn.:2).

God also wants you to save your wife and children from works of the flesh. Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these, adultery, fornication, uncleanness, hatred, wrath, envying, drunkenness, strife, seditions, murders, (Gal.5:19-21). Sickness, disease, rebellion, ungodliness, immorality, bitterness, envy, jealousy, covetousness and so much more are not the identity of your wife and children. You must save your wife and children from these satanic influences by the weapon of the word of God, the force of prayer and fasting and the authority of your faith in the blood of Jesus Christ and name of Jesus Christ (Mk.9:29, Rev.12:11, Heb.11:32-33, Heb.11:2).

You are a christ in the lives of your wife, children and home. You are a saviour God has sent to do what Jesus Christ will do were He to be physically here as the husbandman in your home. You are an ambassador of Christ, representing His interests in your home and in the lives of your wife and children.

You must be conscious of your real identity in Christ and walk in it for the good of your wife and children, bringing glory and praise to God through Jesus Christ.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, I plead for Your mercy for my failure to exercise my authority as a saviour and seeker of good in the lives of my wife and children.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to take seriously my roles as a seeker of good and saviour of my wife and children.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, build me up in faith, hope and courage as I lead my wife and children.

FAITH CONFESSION

I exercise my authority as a seeker of good and saviour of my wife and children because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
