Bible Texts: Ps.47:1-2, 2Tim.2:21, Pro.3:16, 2Cor.3:1, Rom.10:10, Matt.6:22, 1Cor.13:4-8
O clap your hands, all ye people, shout unto God with the voice of triumph. For the Lord most high is terrible, he is a great King over all the earth. He shall subdue the people under us and the nations under our feet. He shall choose our inheritance for us, the excellency of Jacob whom he loved (Ps.47:1-4).
The Scripture above teaches the way God expects you to show appreciation for who He is and for what He has done. The word of God says, “clap your hands”. There are many ways you can express your thankfulness to God. These include singing, worshipping in songs and even in prayers, shouting, dancing and clapping. In whatever way you are led to show gratitude to God, it is always a sweet smelling savour to Him and He accepts it. And any time you thank God by our practical actions, it shows that you are not ungrateful or unmindful of those seemingly little or big things that He has done for you.
This is the attitude of gratitude that God wants you to cultivate and demonstrate towards your wife and children. God wants you to appreciate your wife and children for those little things that they have done. And one of the ways you can express your appreciation to them is by clapping. You must understand that your wife and children are responsive beings. They respond to every action that you show towards them whether now or in the future. So, if they do well, even if it is in the simplest of tasks, please call them and celebrate them, and do it openly and proudly, too. Let them know that you are not unmindful of their little efforts and results. You must also understand that when you celebrate them openly, they are motivated and inspired to do better.
However, you must watch out for the lies of the devil which makes you to focus on the weaknesses and negative sides of your wife and children rather than their positive and strong sides. Satan wants you to focus your attention on the things that are wrong with your wife and children rather than the things that are right with them. When you focus on their negatives rather than their positives, it would be very difficult for you to notice any positive improvements in their lives, and this will make you not to acknowledge their good works. And your life and relationship with them will be full of complaints and murmuring, which displease God (Num.11:1).
Thank God for the word of God that has provided a cure to this satanic distraction that aims to hinder you from appreciating for your wife and children. It is in Matthew chapter 6.
The light of the body is the eye. IF THEREFORE THINE EYE BE SINGLE, thy whole body shall be full of light. But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness, if therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness (Matt.6:22-23).
As the good and godly husbandman, you must maintain focus and dwell on the good sides of your wife and children. You must celebrate them. You must not only be thankful to them in your heart, you must also declare it with your mouth (Rom.10:10).
It is always a good attitude to appreciate your wife and children.
