THE FATHER’S WILL

Bible Texts: Jn.6:38-39, Jn.10:28, Jn.10:10, Jn.8:32, 2Tim.2:15, Is.61:9, Gal.4:19, 1Pet.3:7, Eph.5:25-27, Rom.10:10, Heb.11:2

Do you have any idea what your heavenly Father’s will is for you as the husbandman? Do you know why God gave you a family-wife and children? Do you know the purpose why God sent you into the lives of your wife and children and gave you a home?

Just this morning while studying the Word of God, the Person of the Holy Spirit led me to John Gospel chapter 6 and this is what it says.

For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. And this is the Father’s will which sent me, that of all which he hath given me, I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day (Jn.6:38-39)

God gave you a wife and blessed you with children. Both your wife and children are good gifts from God. They are also God’s precious treasures that must be valued and for which you must give account to God at the last day. This is how important and valuable your wife and children are to God, hence your heavenly Father’s will is for you to keep them away from satan, sin and the world.

And I give unto them eternal life and they shall never perish neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand (Jn.10:28)

Why must I ensure that I do not lose my wife and children to satan, sin and the world?

Satan came but to steal, to kill, and to destroy but I am come that ye may have life and have it more abundantly (Jn.10:10)

The plan of satan, sin and the world is to steal, to kill and to destroy and they achieve this through all forms of manipulation, influences and misinformation. But for you as the husbandman, who is on an assignment from God, you give life to your wife and children and protect them from the pulls of satan and its influences. That is what God wants you to do.

As the husbandman, you can keep God’s treasures-wife and children-by the weapon of the word of God. This means that you keep searching the Bible to find out the truth that will set them free (Jn.8:32, 2Tim.2:15). The second action step is to intercede for them on the basis of God’s plans and purposes for their lives (Is.61:9, Gal.4:19, 1Pet.3:7, Eph.5:25-27). The third step you must take is to keep confessing what God has said in His word concerning your wife and children, regardless of what may be happening (Rom.10:10). Finally, you must pray and declare God’s counsel over them in faith (Heb.11:2).

You are the gatekeeper. God made you so. God wants you to keep what He has given to you, that is your wife, children and home. He doesn’t waste resources so He is reminding you today to awake from your slumber and build a wall of defence around your home and protect His treasures-wife and children from being stolen by satan, sin and the world.

 SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me by the Spirit of Your word to protect Your treasures.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me by the Spirit of faith to secure Your treasures from being stolen by satan, sin and the world.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to exercise Your kind of authority as the gatekeeper.

FAITH CONFESSION

I am the gatekeeper and I have the mandate of God to protect His treasures in my custody from the being stolen by satan, sin and the world because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
