POWER OF THE PRAYING HUSBANDMAN (1)

Bible Texts: Mk.9:23, Jer.33:3, Lk.18:1, Gen.1:26-28, Philp.4:8, Heb.11:6, Gen.2:18-25, Jn.5:39, Gen.4:1, Jn.8:32, 1Thess.5:17

I welcome you to today’s teaching and our focus will be on prayers and how you and I can use this spiritual weapon to establish the fulfillment of our mandate as husbandmen. Therefore, in the next three days, we shall be examining the three-dimensional prayer focus area for the husbandman.

But before we begin, let us get some assurances from the word of God about prayers.

Thus saith the Lord the maker thereof, the Lord that formed it, to establish it, the Lord is his name. Call unto me and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not (Jer.33:2-3)

God has committed to answer you when you pray according to His perfect will.

Jesus said unto him, if thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth (Mk.9:23).

Whatever God’s word has said concerning your assignment as the husbandman can be a reality if you can pray, believing.

Remember that the husbandman is a three-in-one personality. He is the man (Gen.1:26-28). He is the husband (Gen.2:18-25). He is the father (Gen.4:1). So, today, let us focus on you as the man.

Your prayer as the man is to develop a genuine relationship with God through His Son, Jesus Christ. As the man, your first priority on your prayer list is how to have a holy fellowship with God, where you love Him with the whole of your heart, mind, soul and body. Just like the first man, Adam, in the Garden of Eden, God wants to commune with you. He wants you to have a personal relationship with Him. So, search for Scriptures on fellowship and pray them into your life.

But why is this prayer for me as the man important?

This prayer is important for you because it is the perfect will of God for you. God does not only want you to relate with Him here on earth, He also wants that friendship to continue after you leave this world to be with Him in heaven (Rev.3:20). The second is that your spirit is willing to please God but your flesh is weak (Matt.26:41). You know that that action you are about to take is wrong and against the will of God but you still find yourself doing it. But with prayers for yourself, you overcome the desires of the flesh. The third is that praying for yourself keeps you on track in thinking, acting and doing what is true, lovely, honest and pure (Philp.4:8).

So, let us pray as the man.

Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank You for making me the man out of the ministry of the husbandman.

Father, in the name of Jesus, I ask that You create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit in me.

Father, in the name of Jesus, empower me to have rule and control over the desires of my flesh.

Father, in the name of Jesus, empower me to do Your perfect will and let my life be a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto You.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, teach me how to function as the man.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, guide me by Your word to do Your will as the man.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to keep my prayer altar burning as the man.

FAITH CONFESSION

I am made in the image and likeness of God and I take responsibility to seek fellowship with God through His Son, Jesus Christ and to always do His perfect will as the man because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
