GOD WANTS YOU TO GROW FROM FAITHFULNESS TO FAITHFULNESS

Spread the love

Bible Texts: Lk.16:10-13, Gen.17:1-5, Gen.12:2, Col.2:8, 1Cor.10:12, Jas.4:6, Rom.12:1-3, Philp.3:10, Jas.4:7, Lk.18:1, 1Cor.15:58, Jn.8:32, Jn.5:39

He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much. If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon who will commit to your trust the true riches? And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man’s, who will shall give you that which is your own? (Lk.16:10-12)

The perfect will of God for the husbandman is to grow from faithfulness to faithfulness. God wants you to have an increasing progress in your walk with Him, your wife, children and in the marketplace. God wants to trust you even more but you must prove your faithfulness as you lead yourself, wife and children. Whatever you know and irrespective of the position you hold, your faithfulness will be tested.

And when Abram was ninety year old and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram and said unto him, I am the Almighty God, walk before me and be thou perfect (Gen.17:1)

As the good and godly husbandman, you must continue to work with God to grow from one level of faithfulness to another.

But there are certain satanic forces that will want to contend with the perfect will of God for your life.

Firstly, is the force of falsehood. This spirit deceives you to take sin very lightly- telling you that it doesn’t matter. For instance, the spirit tells you that it doesn’t really count as a sin if you have extra marital affairs. It tells you that after all everybody is doing it. It tells you that it is manly to keep malice with your wife and children or even depend on your wife’s income to survive rather than work with your hands, diligently. Satan is a deceiver. He presents falsehood as truth. But you must contend with him on the basis of the knowledge of the word of God (Jn.8:32, Jn.5:39).

The second force you must contend with is the spirit of pride. Pride tells you that you are in charge and no one can talk to you. Infact, it tells you that you are above the correction and wise counsel of your wife and children and other godly people around you. It blocks your ears to reasoning. You must understand that just as you are the head of your wife and children, you also have a head whom you report to-God (1Cor.11:3). So, you must continue to learn to subject yourself to Him and His instructions to make the most of your headship as the husbandman.

And as you walk to grow in faithfulness, you become a blessed husbandman (Gen.12:2, Gen.17:5).

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to grow from one level of faithfulness to another.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from every deceitfulness and arrogance.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, baptize me with the Spirit of grace and humility so that I will continue to depend on You for a faithful work.

FAITH CONFESSION

I have the life of God and the Spirit of His Son, Jesus, so being faithful becomes my heritage as the good and godly husbandman in Jesus Name. Amen.
