BE RULED BY THE LAW OF THE SPIRIT (1)

I have come to discover from Scripture that until the husbandman has the knowledge of God in him and he allows it to determine his decisions, relationships, conduct and comments, he can’t operate optimally as the good and godly husbandman. And that is why today’s teaching is focusing on the importance of the law of the Spirit, which is the word of God, in shaping and making the husbandman to function as the good and godly man, husband and father.

When you allow the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus to gain preeminence in your life, you will do those things that please God, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, your wife, children and you will be light to the world.

For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh, but they that are after the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be CARNALLY minded is death, but to be SPIRITUALLY minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God, for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So, then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. (Rom.8:5-8)

As the husbandman, God wants you to grow spiritually. God wants the spirit behind the word of Scriptures to be the reasons for your actions as you lead yourself, your wife, children and in the marketplace. God wants your spirit-man to be healthy and fruitful. He doesn’t want you to live after the flesh, the philosophies of men and the rudiments of this world. This is why you must take your spiritual life very seriously.

A lot of husbandmen are so carnally minded that they have lost grip of their family’s spiritual heritage. You must understand that your office as the husbandman has its origin in spirituality. God created that office and the Scriptures say that God is Spirit and those that must do His bidding must do it in truth and in spirit (Jn.4:24).

Carnality has led to many husbandmen compromising on their stand on what is godly and righteous. Your leadership over your wife and children is to infuse spiritual seeds and virtues into their lives. But it begins with you being ruled by the law of the Spirit in Christ Jesus.

But what does it mean to be spiritual as the husbandman?

It means you are being ruled by the principles and instructions of the Spirit of God behind the word of God. This means that your decisions, action, conduct, reaction and responses towards your wife and children and in all other areas of your life and relationships must be influenced and determined by what the Bible commands. There is no middle ground. It is either the word of God or nothing.

Be ruled by the principles of Scriptures and you will find rest to your soul and joy in your life and in your relationship with your wife and children.

 SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to live by the Spirit of Your word in all that I think, do and say.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to overcome every force of carnality in my life.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, let my life reflect Your character and Person in all that I do and before all men.

 FAITH CONFESSION

I live by the dictates of the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus because that is the master key for me to becoming the good and godly husbandman in Jesus Name. Amen.
