BE RULED BY THE LAW OF THE SPIRIT (2)

For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh, but they that are after the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be CARNALLY minded is death, but to be SPIRITUALLY minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God, for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So, then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. (Rom.8:5-8)

Yesterday, the Person of the Holy Spirit helped you and I to understand that spirituality is the cure to carnality. That you and I cannot overcome the tendencies of the flesh by the flesh. And if you and I must grow to become the good and godly husbandman, we must study the word of God, believe what it says and act according to what it instructs and commands.

Now, every husbandman who wants to have victory over the lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes and pride of life must continue to engage the force of the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus. For you to overcome filthiness of the tongue, lying and deceit, cheating, fornication and adultery, and all forms of ungodliness, you must step up your spirituality by engaging the weapon of warfare of the word, prayer, faith and the anointing of the Holy Ghost.

Carnality is beyond the fact that you are a pastor of your church or founder of your ministry or even born again for a long time. You can be any of these and yet live a carnal life. You find your once vibrant self who before now was burning for God suddenly finds the things of the Spirit irritating. You no longer have interest in prayers, word study. And when you put all these together, you will realize that you have become a burden to yourself and to your wife and children and in the market place.

What then are the benefits of being spiritual and staying spiritual?

For to be carnally minded is DEATH but to be spiritually minded is LIFE and PEACE (Rom.8:6).

From this verse of Scripture, you will notice that being spiritual and given attention to the commandments and instructions of the word of God leads to life and peace while carnality leads to death, both physically and spiritually.

Search the Scriptures for in them ye think ye have eternal life (Jn.5:39)

And,

My son give attention to my word and incline thy ears to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes and keep them in midst of your heart. For they are life to those who find them and health to all their flesh (Pro.4:20-22).

Spirituality and walking in the newness of life in Christ Jesus guarantees your health spiritually, mentally and physically and sustains healthy relationships between you and your wife, children and in the market place.

You have lived a carnal life and being ruled by the philosophies of men and the rudiments of this world. Now is the time for you to shake off the beast into the fire and walk in righteousness and pleasing the Lord as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable.

Be spiritual! It is the security that you need for your life and the lives of your wife, children and pathway to living a triumphant and victorious life.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to live by the Spirit of Your word in all that I think, do and say.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to overcome every force of carnality in my life.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, let my life reflect Your character and Person in all that I do and before all men.

 FAITH CONFESSION

I live by the dictates of the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus because that is the master key for me to becoming the good and godly husbandman in Jesus Name. Amen.
