EMBRACE THE TRUTH AND DON’T FIGHT IT

Spread the love

Bible Texts: 2Cor.13:7-8, Jn.5:39, Pro.4:20-24, 2Tim.2:15, 2Tim.3:5, 1Tim.5:17, Jos.1:6-8, Ps.119:105, Jn.8:32, Jn.17:17

One of the challenges many husbandmen have is agreeing with what the word of God says about who they are, and what God expects from them as the good and godly man, husband and father. They would rather choose the traditions of their village and the culture of their town and the philosophies of men and the rudiments of this world in determining what they will or will not do as they lead themselves, wife and children. The choice not to follow the truth of Scriptures is the reason many husbandmen are not living the life of Jesus Christ, the perfect example of the good and godly husbandman.

But the perfect will of God for you is to embrace the truth of Scriptures and allow the word of God to guide your life’s decisions.

Now I pray to God that ye do no evil not that we should appear approved, but that ye should do that which is honest, though we be as reprobates. For we can do nothing against the truth but for the truth (2Cor.13:7-8).

As the husbandman, you must understand that the constitution that guides your conduct, utterances, relationships, finances and expectations is the Bible. From the beginning when God created the office of the husbandman in Genesis chapter 2 and verses 14 through to 18, He had designed that you live according to His commandments. And when you study the Bible, you will also read about husbandmen who walked according to the truth of Scriptures and pleased the Lord. This is why you must live above the tendencies of the human nature and the rules of man. You must accept the truth of Scriptures as the final authority in your decisions and as you lead yourself and relate with your wife and children and the world at large.

But what do I stand to benefit if I allow the truth of the word of God to rule my life as the husbandman?

Firstly, it provides you error-free guidance. That is, you will never get it wrong as the man, husband and father because God by His word is guiding and instructing you. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path (Ps.119:105). Imagine the Spirit of God leading you in the discharge of your duty as the man, husband and father. Will you fail? No, you cannot.

Secondly, the word of God illuminates your heart to see farther and better for your life, wife and children. The word shines in darkness and the darkness cannot comprehend it (Jn.1:5). As the husbandman, revelation or rhema of the word is an important requirement for your reign as the good and godly leader (Eph.1:18). You can only go as far as you can see and you will treat your wife and children only to the extent of what you see and know about them from the word of God. If you see your wife as a piece of furniture or your children as a burden rather than gifts and assets from God, you will not be committed, fully to serving their best interest.

You cannot fight against the truth of Scriptures but you must accept it joyfully and do all that it commands you to do whether it is convenient or not. Seek Jesus Christ and His word for you as the husbandman and be functional in your calling as the good and godly husbandman.
