The shepherd is the person saddled with the responsibility of keeping his sheep in the sheep-fold. And so as the head of your family, you are the shepherd and your wife and children are sheep, and the environment where the shepherd and the sheep live is the sheep-fold. With this at your disposal, you are the good shepherd and God demands that you secure your wife and children from satan, sin and the world.
So, whatever happens to your wife and children, you will give account to God. If your sheep succeeds, it is your gain. If your sheep fails, it is your loss. Neither your parents, family members nor friends will be held responsible for what happens to your wife and children and family fold. The day your parent’s in-laws handed over their daughter to you as your wife, you assume full responsibility for her life. And the day God gave your wife conception and brought forth children, you take full responsibility for the life of that child.
This is why you must do all that you can to ensure that your sheepfold is intact. You must keep your wife and children in perfect peace and harmony. You must bind your sheep together with the love of Christ.
And he called them unto him and said unto them in parables, how can satan cast out satan? And if a KINGDOM be divided against itself, that KINGDOM cannot stand. And if a HOUSE be divided against itself, that HOUSE cannot stand. And if satan rises up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end. NO MAN CAN ENTER INTO A STRONG MAN’S HOUSE, AND SPOIL HIS GOODS, EXCEPT HE WILL FIRST BIND THE STRONG MAN, AND THEN HE WILL SPOIL HIS HOUSE (Mk.3:23-27)
From the Scriptures above, particularly the 27th verse, you will discover that as the head of the family, you are the strong man of your home. And no intruder has the right to enter your sheepfold and scatter it. In fact, the enemy requires your permission to scatter your sheepfold. You must not give the devil a chance.
As the head of the family, you have been called unto greater responsibilities- to keep and secure your wife and children against the devil, sin and the world. God has entrusted into your hands the lives of your wife and children. Keeping the gate shut against the torrent of evil is not a function of your position or title. It is a demand of your office as the good and godly husbandman.
Now is the time to keep your family fold secured. Today is the time to start to keep your sheep in your sheepfold.
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to stand strong to defend my wife and children.
Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to be forward looking over my wife and children.
Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from spiritual slumber and awaken me unto spiritual fervency.
FAITH CONFESSION
I am the good shepherd and I keep my wife and children safe and secured because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus Name. Amen.
