Bible Texts: Heb.12:2, Jn.14:6, 2Cor.1:20, Matt.10:8, Ps.108:12, Ps.121:1-2, Jer.33:3, Heb.11:6, Matt.11:28-30, Ps.34:5, Jn.15:5, Is.49:16
As the husbandman, who do you look up to in times like these? Who does your gaze focus on in your most challenging and difficult times? Do you look to man or you look to Jesus Christ? This is the question you must consider today because who you look to determines the quality and quantity of answers and responses you see and receive.
Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith……..(Heb.12:2a)
The perfect will of God for you is to look up to Jesus Christ and not to man for solutions to the challenges you have, in whatever form they come. This is because man is limited and while God is not. Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the life, man is not (Jn.14:6). Jesus Christ never fails, man fails and always will (2Cor.1:20). Jesus Christ comes through and always will for you without asking for anything in return, but man will ask for a return for the solutions giving (Matt.10:8). The word of God says this and I want you to believe it. Vain is the help of man (Ps.108:12). It doesn’t not matter the challenges and difficulties you are facing today, I encourage you to stay on course with Jesus Christ and focus on Him. He will help you.
But how do I look to Jesus Christ for the solutions I desperately need?
You must give Jesus Christ first place in your life. What this means is that Jesus Christ becomes the first person you talk to in your time of distress, fear and struggles, and you do this by praying to Him. Jesus Christ must not be your alternative.
I will lift up my voice to the hills, from whence cometh my help, my help cometh from the Lord who made the heaven and the earth (Ps.121:1-2)
Call unto me and I will answer thee…..(Jer.33:3)
You must also believe that Jesus Christ answers prayers and that He is not an alternative.
But without faith it is impossible to please him, for he that cometh to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him (Heb.11:6).
The same way you believe the capacity of someone you know to do something when you call them is the same way you must demonstrate unwavering faith in God and His capacity to answer you when you call.
Today there is an invitation for you from God through His Son, Jesus Christ.
Come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest (Matt.11:28-30)
Jesus Christ has given you an open invitation to come with your burden, pain, struggles, fears, discomfort and hopelessness. He has an exchange programme for you, which is better and more enduring than anything or anyone else. The invitation is free. All you need to do is to go to Him on the basis of His word, in faith and in hope and watch Him come through for you.
Are you ready to shift your focus from man to God through Jesus Christ?
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, forgive me for not giving You the first place in my life but making You the alternative.

FAITH CONFESSION
I give Jesus Christ the first place in my life and I come to Him with all my concerns, fears, doubts, struggles, burden and confusion in prayers, faith and hope because He is my sure bet for enduring rest to my soul in Jesus name. Amen.
