DOING THE PERFECT WILL OF GOD

Jesus saith unto them, my meat is to do the will of him that sent me and to finish his work (Jn.4:34)

Jesus Christ, who is the perfect example of the good and godly husbandman made three profound statements in John chapter 4 and verse 34 which must form the basis of your walk with God through Jesus Christ.

The first is that Jesus knew the purpose why He came on earth. The second is that Jesus knew He was accountable to God because He did not come on His own but God sent Him. The third is that He knew He has work to do and what to measure Himself with.

These truths from Jesus Christ must be your principle for living as the husbandman. Your life as you lead yourself, wife and children must be guided by you knowing the purpose why God made you the man, husband and father; being committed to be accountable to God, your wife and children because God sent you to them and you are in their lives to fulfill God’s assignment; and knowing what the word of God says and doing it diligently and delightfully.

But for you to fit into the truth of your purpose, being accountable and doing your assignment faithfully and committedly, you must search the word of God.

Search the scriptures, for in them ye think ye have eternal life and they are they which testify of me (Jn.5:39)

The word of God is the manual of life. It is the treasure box of God. In it you will find your purpose for being the man, husband and father. In it you will find the way to go about your assignment as the husbandman and the consequences of doing or not doing the perfect will of God. Your growth and improvement requires that you study and keep studying the word of God. Study to show thyself approved unto God as a workman who is not ashamed but rightly dividing the word of truth (2Tim.2:15).

And as you search the word of God to know and become better as the husbandman, you must engage the force of prayers and fasting in order to strengthen your spirit, soul and body for the task of leading yourself, wife and children (Mk.9:29, Jn.15:5, Philp.2:13, Matt.7:7, Gal.4:19). A lot of the time, the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. You must also initiate, develop and sustain fellowship with the Person of the Holy Spirit. The Person of the Holy Spirit will not only teach you, He will also guide you through the knowledge of the word of God (Jn.14:26).

You must understand that God has glorious plans for you as the man, husband and father. God wants you to succeed as you lead yourself, wife and children. He has given you all things you require to be the good and godly husbandman. You must do your part of knowing His plans, doing what the word of God commands with all your heart, might and spirit and be accountable to God, your wife and children.

 SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, help me to rediscover Your perfect will for my life as the man, husband and father.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to study the word of God with delight and as a lifestyle.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to do Your perfect will in all areas and make accountably responsible.

FAITH CONFESSION

My meat as the man, husband and father is to do the perfect will of God and I do His will because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
