Many husbandmen make daily decisions to renew their physical bodies but fail to renew their spirit man. We change our clothes but not our attitude. We replace our worn out shoes but not our caustic behaviour. If you and I must lead and become the true reflection of what God wants us to be as good and godly husbandmen, we must make a decision to walk before God and be like Him in all things through Jesus Christ. That is the matured husbandman.
As you lead yourself in pursuit of the perfect will of God for you as the good and godly husbandman, it is important for you to recognize the importance of renewing your spiritual man by strengthening your word study, prayer altar and fellowship with other brethren. If you do not renew your mind, you will not have the strength to overcome challenges, pressures and distractions.
Let’s read the word of God from Hebrews chapter 12 and find out the mind of God for you as the good and godly husbandman.
Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees. “Make level paths for your feet,” so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed (Heb.12:12-13)
If you want to continue to be relevant and useful as the good and godly man, husband and father, you must renew your spiritual life. This is because the quality of your investment in your spiritual growth, development and renewal will impact on the quality of your life as the husbandman.
But how do I renew my spiritual life and become the perfect husbandman?
Feed your mind on a daily basis with the word of God by studying, meditating and acting on it.
Search the Scriptures, for in them ye think ye have eternal life and they are they which testify of me…(Jn.5:39)
Do this exercise daily with the fear of the Lord and for the purpose of learning how to become the good and godly husbandman.
That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word (Eph.5:26)
Engage the power of prayer to enjoy the spirit behind the word.
It is the Spirit that quickeneth, the flesh profiteth nothing. The words that I speak to you, for they are spirit and they are life (Jn.6:63)
Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is-his good, pleasing and perfect (Rom.12:2) NIV
You cannot be greater and better than the quality of your thought life. The more you feed on the word of God and allow the word to gain root in your heart, the more your decisions, conduct and action will be influenced by what the word of God says because you know God’s perfect will. And this will help you to please God at all times and in all things and establish you in the things of God.
You must make a daily commitment to do only what God says.
Walk before me and be ye perfect…. (Gen.17:1)
Renew your life by the word of God and be the asset that your wife and children and the world will delightsomely desire.
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, I surrender my life to You and to the influence of Your word.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to exercise myself unto godliness.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, build me up in righteousness.
FAITH CONFESSION
I exercise myself in the truth of God’s word to renew my mind in order for my life to be ruled by what the word of commands and instructs because that is what keeps me growing as the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
