THE LOVE OF JESUS COMPELS YOU TO LOVE LIKE HIM

Spread the love

Bible Texts: Rom.5:5, Eph.5:25, Jn.3:16, Heb.12:2, Philp.2:13, Gal.4:19, Lk.18:1, Mk.9:29, Col.3:19, Eph.6:4

Until the husbandman has the love of Jesus Christ planted firmly in his heart, it will be difficult for him to love his Christ has loved the church and nurture his children in the way and admonition of the Lord. Many husbandmen have become cold and find their relationship with God, their wife and children unattractive. And many more have no reason to pursue the assignment of becoming the good and godly husbandman any more.

This is why you and I must continue to seek the love of Christ to be shed abroad on our hearts so that we can be like Jesus Christ in all things.

And hope maketh not ashamed because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given to us (Rom.5:5)

If the love of Jesus Christ is shed abroad in your heart, you will not have reason to walk out of the relationship you have with God, your wife and children. There will be no room in your heart to hurt them and do them evil and wickedness. With the love of Christ firmly rooted in your heart, it becomes easier for you to extend that same love to your wife and children.

The Scripture describes God this way.

For God is love (1Jn.4:8)

As the husbandman, you are made in the image and likeness of God. This means you have his nature in you and because of this, you have the ability to love like He would through Jesus Christ. This is what inspires and motivates you to delightsomely obey all the instructions from the word of God that build you into the godly husbandman.

But what will the love of Christ in your heart do for me?

Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up. Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil. Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in truth. Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things (1Cor.13:4-7)

When you have the love of Christ firmly planted in your heart, you will manifest the following attributes, Kindness, humility and compassion. It will always motivate you to seek the good of your wife and children over and above yours. It purifies your heart from thinking evil of them. It empowers you to have empathy towards them when they fail and fall into iniquity. It builds your inner man to persevere and endure the weaknesses of your wife and children. It strengthens your commitment to hope for the best and believe only good outcomes for your wife and children.

Looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith…(Heb.12:2)

As the husbandman, Jesus Christ is your example of the good and godly husbandman. Jesus Christ is love defined and His life and conduct while on earth is in the word of God-the Bible. The more you give attention to and invest your time to the study of the word of God, finding out how Jesus Christ loved humanity, the quicker your life reflects His nature to your wife and children.

Jesus Christ is the true love. You can become like Him to your wife, children and in the marketplace.
