IDENTIFY WITH THIER WEAKNESS AND CELEBRATE THEIR STRENGTHS

Spread the love

Bible Texts: 1Cor.9:22, Rom.5:8, 1Cor.13:6, 1Thess.5:14, Num.13:18, Eph.1:18, Gal.4:19, Jer.29:11, 3Jn.1:2, Matt.6:22

Today I want us to consider another character the husbandman must have as he leads in the homefront. One of the attributes of a good and godly husbandman is to identify with the weakness and strengths of the led. This quality helps the husbandman to connect to his wife and children and that is who Jesus Christ is. That is the character God wants you to develop as the husbandman.

Now read what the Bible says about that.

When I am with those who are weak, I SHARE THEIR WEAKNESS, for I want to bring the weak to Christ. Yes, I try to find common ground with everyone, doing everything I can to save some. (1Cor.9:22) NLT

Your wife and children are not perfect. Your wife, no matter her weakness, she has some aspects of her life worth celebrating. Your children also have what you can celebrate. If you must make progress and enjoy your relationship with your wife and children as the good and godly husbandman, you must never dwell on their weaknesses but keep celebrating their strengths.

If thy eyes be single, thy whole body will be full of light (Matt.6:22)

As the good and godly husbandman, the will of God for you is to focus and celebrate the strengths of your wife and children rather than their weaknesses. Your heavenly Father does not focus on your failings and weaknesses. He continues to wish above all that you grow unto His image and likeness (Rom.5:8, Jer.29:11, 3Jn.1:2).

While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us (Rom.5:8)

Jesus Christ, our perfect example of the good and godly husbandman, died for us while we were yet in sin. He didn’t consider our weakness or failings. He nonetheless loved us and gave Himself to us. That is the character of the godly husbandman. You must be willing to lay down your guard of criticism and lift up the banner of love and celebration.

But how do I identify with their weaknesses and celebrate their strengths?

You must always appreciate that your wife and children are not perfect. And for this reason, you pray for them. I travail in prayer that Christ be formed in you (Gal.4:19). Secondly, you develop an attitude of gratitude to God for the gift of a wife and children and be thankful. This can only happen when your eyes of understanding is opened to see who they are from God’s eyes. I pray that your eyes of understanding be enlightened that you may see…..(Eph.1:18).

God has placed you as the good and godly husbandman and given you the mandate to lead your wife and children. Their joy is your joy. Their happiness is your happiness. You must never give up on them. You must be the change agent and help them become all that God wants them to be.
