LET YOUR GOOD AND GODLY WORKS SPEAK

The proof of your leadership as the good and godly husbandman is the works you do both in the open and in the secret. And it is your works that gives validity to your ministry as the man, husband and father. And no matter what anyone says, your works will always be used to measure your effectiveness as the husbandman. That is exactly what Jesus Christ, the perfect example of the good and godly husbandman, did while He worked on earth.

If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not. But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works, that ye may know and believe that the Father is in me and I in Him (Jn.10:37-38)

The Scripture speaks of the works that Jesus Christ did, which the people can see and testify of. Though some of the people did not believe in Jesus Christ, nevertheless they did not doubt the good works that He did. He raised the dead, healed the sick, made the lame to walk, made the blind to see, forgive those who fell into sin, provided inspiration and direction to those who are lost. Jesus’s good works spoke loudest before the people.

As the good and godly husbandman, you must do good works and allow your good works to speak loudest in the lives of your wife and children and others around you. If you say you are the good and godly husbandman, then it must show in your works. It must show in your speech, conduct, relationship and responses.

Ye are the salt of the earth……Ye are the light of the world…..Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven (Matt.5:14-16)

How do I begin to do good and godly works?

Firstly, you must be born again by having a personal relationship with God through His Son, Jesus Christ (Jn.3:7, 2Cor.5:17). Secondly, you must join a Bible believing church, where you will be nurtured in the way and admonition of the Lord (Ps.133:1-2). Thirdly, you must feed and meditate on the word of God as necessary food for the development of your inner man to enable you know what works God expects from you (Jn.5:39, 2Tim.2:15). The more you give attention to the study, meditation of the word of God, the more you grow in the knowledge of God the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. Fourthly, you must engage the weapon of prayer and fasting for empowerment to do good works (Mk.9:29). A lot of the times, the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak but with God’s power, you will be able to overcome the flesh and do good works (Philp.2:13, Gal.4:19). Finally, you must act on God’s words (Dan.1:8, Deut.28:1).

God wants to be glorified in your life by your good works because that is what makes you the good and godly man, husband and father.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, forgive me for doing ungodly works.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to obey all Your commandments and instructions.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to do good works and let my life bring You glory and praise.

FAITH CONFESSION

God has made me to be a worker of good and godliness, and that is what I am manifesting from today onward because I am committed to becoming the good and godly man, husband and father in Jesus name. Amen.
