Bible Texts: Jn.10:9-11, Est.7:6, 1Tim.5:14, Eph.2:2, Heb.12:24, Eph.6:10-12, 2Cor.5:17, Rev.12:11, Rom.10:10, 2Tim.2:15, Rom.4:17-21, Jn.3:3-7, Lk.18:1, Mk.9:27-29
Who is the real enemy that constantly wants to destroy the good and godly relationship you have with God, your wife and children? Have you ever asked yourself this question? If you have not, it is okay before today but from today, make this an important test question for yourself.
So, who then is the enemy of the husbandman? What are the invincible forces responsible for the tension, hatred, bitterness, unforgiveness, hurt, lack of peace and joylessness in your life and sheepfold? The word of God provides the answer.
The devil has come but to steal, to kill and to destroy (Jn.10:10)
The real enemies of the husbandman are satan, sin and the world. They are the real deal that the husbandman must dominate and have victory over.
Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience (Eph.2:2)
At the root of any misbehavior in your life that is making your desire to be the good and godly husbandman difficult and your unwillingness to become the good and godly man, husband and father are unseen forces of evil. It is called the prince of the power of the air that works disobedience. It is spiritual corruption.
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places (Eph.6:12)
You are not fighting against flesh and blood. What you are contending with as you lead yourself, wife and children in the way and admonition of the Lord Jesus Christ are principalities and powers and rulers of darkness in high places. So be ready for warfare, if you must remain the good and godly husbandman.
As the husbandman, you must understand that you journey to becoming the good and godly husbandman is first spiritual. And if you can have control over the spiritual, you can deal with and overcome any ungodly tendencies.
So, how do I contend with and overcome the negative and ungodly forces that want to steal, kill and destroy my heritage as the good and godly man, husband and father?
