HOLDING FIRMLY THE WORD OF GOD

Spread the love

Bible Texts: Bible Texts: Jas.1:25, Matt.5:14-16, 2Tim.2:15, Eph.1:18-19, Rom.2:7, Jn.14:26, Pro.4:20-22, Deut.28:1, Ps.138:2, Jn.5:39, Eph.5:25-28, 1Pet.3:7-9, Eph.6:4, Deut.6:7

Until you and I return to the word of God, we will not enjoy the fulfillment of our calling as the good and godly husbandman. Each day, frustration, discouragement and fear will hold us down if we do not engage the word of God as the life-wire of our lives (Jn.1:1-3).

This is why, today, and by the prompting of the Person of the Holy Spirit, I want to reenact excerpts from the teaching of April 14, 2023, reminding you and I that God’s word is the anchor for our journey as the good and godly man, husband and father.

The entrance of thy words giveth light, it giveth understanding to the simple. Order my steps in thy word and let not any iniquity have dominion over me. Thy word is very pure, therefore thy servant loveth it. (Ps.119:130, 133, 140)

This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth but thou shalt meditate therein day and night…… (Jos.1:8)

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord and in his law doth he meditate day and night (Ps.1:1-2)

But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty and CONTINUETH THEREIN, he being not a forgetful hearer but a DOER OF THE WORK, this man shall be blessed in his deed (Jas.1:25)

From the above Scriptures, it is no gain saying that the word of God gives value to your life as the husbandman. It is the word of God that you can trade with and that can bring you profit. It is what you ask God to do for you on the basis of His word that He will do for you as the man, husband and father. That is why you must keep holding onto the word of God even when the circumstances and situations are contrary to what you expect.

You must not only hold onto the word of God, you must be an active doer of the word in truth and spirit.

And as you stay on the word, believing what it says and faithfully practicing what it commands you do, you will become a strong, fruitful and shining light as the man, husband and father, bringing glory and praise to Jesus Christ, your wife, children and in the marketplace (Matt.5:14-16, Jas.1:25, Pro.4.20-22, Deut.28:1).

The word of God is the life of God. Hold onto it, practice and run with it day and night (Ps.1:1-2).

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to stay on Your word and let Your word continue to take first place in all my decisions and plans.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, make Your word to gain root in my heart and bear fruits in my life.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, establish Your perfect plans for my life, wife and children by Your word.

FAITH CONFESSION

I search and believe the word of God and I am holding onto the word in all that I think, say or do because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
