PRAYING ALWAYS WITH ALL PRAYER AND SUPPLICATION

Bible Texts: Eph.6:18, Lk.18:1, Mk.9:29, Lk.10:19, Heb.11:11:2, Jn.3:3-5, Heb.11:6, Ps.24:1-2, Heb.10:35, Jn.10:10, 2Tim.2:15, 2Cor.5:17

Praying always with all prayer and supplication and watching with all patience and perseverance is the admonition from God to the husbandman reading this devotional today (Eph.6:18).

There is a fierce battle raging against the husbandman. Satan, sin and the world are contending against the husbandman’s design to becoming good and godly (Jn.10:10). But only the empowerment of the Holy Ghost which comes from the prayer altar can give the husbandman victory. This is why you must pray without ceasing and praying always in all supplications.

Prayer and supplication as a lifestyle is the husbandman’s greatest spiritual weapon if he wants to continue to remain relevant and useful in his journey as the good and godly man, husband and father.

Jesus Christ, the perfect example of the good and godly husbandman, admonishes you and I to pray always.

Men ought always to pray and not faint (Lk.18:1)

God wants you to keep constant communication with Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. And this you do by praying always. That is the lifestyle of prayers. As you continue to fellowship with God through Jesus Christ, He reveals Himself, strong and mighty in your life and connects you with the power of the world to come (Lk.10:19).

As the husbandman, the authority and power you need to be in command of the affairs of your life as the man, husband and father can only be activated by the weapon of prayer. However, there is one very important foundation you need that will help you communicate rightly with God through Jesus Christ and get answers. It is the foundation of the word of God.

Study to show thyself approved as a workman unto God that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth (2Tim.2:15)

When you pray, you must pray with the word of God. This is why you must study the word of God as a lifestyle so that you know the mind of God and pray according to His perfect will.

Another important demand from you that will make you access the power of God for a victorious life is walking in the fear and admonition of the Lord. After you are born again, you must ensure that you do only those things that will please God and bring honour to Him (Jn.3:3-5, Ps.24:1-2, 2Cor.5:17).

Finally, you must walk by faith in God and be hopeful in His word (Heb.10:35, Heb.11:2). God answers prayers when you call but you must believe Him (Heb.11:6).

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, pour upon me the spirit of grace and supplication.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, stir up a prayer revival in my life.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to pray aright and give me victory.

FAITH CONFESSION

I am praying always, using the word of God as my foundation because I want to be empowered to lead myself, wife and children according to the perfect will of God as the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
