Bible Texts: Matt.5:23-24, Rom.12:18, Heb.12:11, Jas.3:17, Col.1:19-20, 2Cor.5:19, Pro.21:1-3, Jn.14:26, 1Pet.3:7, Ecc.4:12, Matt.18:19, Rom.14:17
Prophecy:
I hear the sound of hatred, bitterness and unforgiveness in the sheepfold of many husbandmen and between them and their wife and children. And this ungodly sound has begun to affect negatively the spiritual, mental and emotional health and relationship between them and their sheep. While satan is happy because his mandate is to kill, steal and destroy, God wants you to reconcile with them. God wants you to seek and pursue peace with them.
Therefore, if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath aught against thee, leave there thy gift before the altar and go thy way, first be reconciled to thy brother and them come an offer thy gift (Matt.5:23-24)
As the husbandman, it is the perfect will of God for you to make peace with your wife and children. God doesn’t just want you to live in peace with them; He wants to you to make peace with them. It is true that there are times when they may offend you. It could also be that you are not the person at fault. But Jesus, the perfect portrait of the good and godly husbandman, gives you and I an example to follow. He says “go first and reconciled”. So, Jesus Christ believes in reconciliation because that is what leads to peace.
For you to be reconciled with your wife and children and seek peace, you must be deliberate. It means you must be the first person to extend hands of reconciliation. You do not wait for them; you walk to them with a heart filled with the love of Christ (Rom.5:5). This demands that you may be the first person to greet them. You may also be the first person to say, “I am sorry”. You may be the first person to call for a peace meeting. All these attempts by you to make peace do not make you a weak husbandman. It only makes you an ambassador of Christ (Col.1:19-20, 2Cor.5:19-20).
But how do I make my peace move a success?
You learn to pray ahead (Gal.4:19)
I travailed in prayers that Christ be formed in you (Gal.4:19)
Prayer is a spiritual seed which has the power to change anything and anyone (Pro.21:1-3).
You must also seek divine wisdom (Jas.1:5)
The wisdom from above is good, godly and pure. It gives you direction and strength to know what to say, when to say, what to do, how to say it and how to go about your work of reconciliation and peace.
These are the blessings of the Lord Jesus Christ that you enjoy when you seek, pursue peace and reconciliation.
The first is that your prayers will not be hindered (1Pet.3:7). The second is that you enjoy spiritual, mental, emotional and physical wellness (Matt.18:19, 3Jn.1:2). The third is that you become the example of the good and godly husbandman that others will want to emulate (Matt.5:14-16, Acts 1:1). And finally, it gives you assurance of eternal life because no one who lives in bitterness and unforgiveness and dies shall make heaven (1Jn.5:17)
The hallmark of the good and godly husbandman is to seek peace and pursue it. It is the nature of Jesus Christ and you have His life in you. Seek peace and pursue it.
