WALK BEFORE GOD AND BE PERFECT (1)

Spread the love

Bible Texts: Lev.1:1-3, Gen.17:1-3, 2Cor.7:1, Rom.12:2, 2Pet.3:14, Ps.24:1-3, Dan.1:8, Rom.10:10, Ps.133:1, Ps.1:1-3, 1Cor.15:33, Rev.12:11

One of the lies satan, sin and the world tells you is that you cannot be perfect. They mistake perfection to a person without mistakes but today by the help of the Person of the Holy Spirit, the word of God tells us that you and I can become better each day in our walk with God as the good and godly man, husband and father (Gen.17:1-3).

The Lord called to Moses from the Tabernacle and said to him, give the following instructions to the people of Israel. When you present an animal as an offering to the Lord, you may take it from your herd of cattle or your flock of sheep and goats. If the animal you present as a burnt offering is from the herd, it must a male WITH NO DEFECTS.  Bring it to the entrance of the Tabernacle as you may be accepted by the Lord (Lev.1:1-3) NLT

As the husbandman, you must be very careful how you live your life. You must understand that living a riotous and unrighteous life not only displeases God, it also creates a barrier between you and God and affects your relationship with your wife and children. So you must be willing and obedient to do what God commands you to do.

Now, there are two levels of defects you must be aware of and resist, steadfastly. It is found in 2nd Corinthians chapter 7 and verse 1.

Because we have these promises, dear friends, let us cleanse ourselves from everything that can defile our body or spirit. And let us work toward complete holiness because we fear God (2Cor.7:1) NLT

The two areas that we must cleanse ourselves from through the weapon of the word of God, the blood of Jesus Christ and prayers are the iniquities that defile our bodies and our spirits.

Drunkenness, stealing, adultery, lying, physically abusing your wife are signs of bodily defilement, while bitterness, malice, unforgiveness, envy, emotionally abusing your wife and children, pride and bad will are all signs of spiritual defilement.

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places (Eph.6:12)

As the good and godly husbandman, you must understand that the journey to becoming the good and godly man, husband and father is a fight which you cannot fight and win by the arm of flesh. This is why you must engage the forces of the spirit of God, if you must overcome the forces of sin and iniquity that want to make you to walk in ungodliness and unrighteousness.

So what is the perfect will of God for me as the husbandman? The perfect will of God for you is found in Romans chapter 12.

FAITH CONFESSION
