WALK BEFORE GOD AND BE PERFECT (2)

Yesterday, we laid the foundation of who we are as the husbandman. The word of God tells us that you and I are made in the image and likeness of God; that we are made to walk in godliness and righteousness in our spirit and body.

Today, let us go further to know the perfect will of God for the husbandman that makes him the perfect husbandman.

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service (Rom.12:1)

The perfect will of God for you is to be like Him in all things. God wants you to present your life as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable. When you deal with any defect in your life, whether as it affects what you think or do, you open the door for God through Jesus Christ to come into your life. And when He comes into your life and has fellowship with you, He gives you direction and inspiration on how to handle your life profitably as the good as the good and godly man, husband and father (Ps.1:1-3, Ps.24:1-3).

To deal with the defects and unrighteousness in your life, you must be born again by accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal Saviour (2Cor.5:7). Secondly, you must identify with a Bible believing church, where the truth of the word of God is taught (Ps.133:1). Thirdly, you must have a personal Bible and feed on it by studying and meditating on the word of God (Jos.1:6-8, Ps.1:1-3). Thirdly, you must make a firm commitment to desist from all forms of unrighteousness just like Daniel determined in his heart that he will not defile himself with the king’s meat (Dan.1:8). Fourthly, you must daily confess your righteous stand in God through the finished work of Jesus Christ on the Cross of Calvary (Rom.10:10). Fifthly, you must identify with fellow husbandmen who have testimonies of a righteous walk with God, their wife and children (1Cor.15:33). Finally, you must daily plead the blood of Jesus Christ over your thoughts, so that they conform to the perfect will of God for you as the good and godly man, husband and father (Rev.12:11).

Becoming the perfect husbandman, who walks in good and godliness is a possibility. Living a holy life and walking in accordance to the instructions of Scriptures make you grow and develop into the full stature of the good and godly husbandman. Therefore, walk in righteousness because it is profitable unto all things.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, forgive me for walking in disobedience to all Your commandments and instructions.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, cleanse my heart and spirit man from every hidden sin.
• Father in the Name of Jesus, fill me with the Spirit of holiness and pureness of heart and let me speak the truth from my inward heart.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart come to You as a sweet smelling savour.

FAITH CONFESSION

I walk in pureness of my heart towards You and towards all people because that is what creates a glorious pathway for me as the good and godly man, husband and father in Jesus Name. Amen.
