Bible Texts: Col.2:9-10, Am.6:1, Lk.16:16, Matt.6:15, Ezk.27:31, Jn.10:10, Matt.19:4-6, Philp.4:19, Rom.5:5, Rev.12:11, Ps.51:10, Lk.18:1, Mk.9:29, 1Cor.15:33, 1Tim.6:12
In the last few days, the Person of the Holy Spirit has opened the eyes of every husbandman to see the deception of satan, who goes about lurking in the corner, looking for who he will destroy through depression, sexual immorality, addiction to alcohol and other ungodly influences. His plan is to steal, kill and destroy your glorious destiny (Jn.10:10). You will not be victim of his onslaught in Jesus name. Amen.
Now, what must I do to overcome the landmines set by satan, sin and the world on my path as I journey to become the good and godly man, husband and father?
The first step is the salvation of your soul. Jesus Christ, who is the perfect example of the good and godly husbandman says these words. Ye must be born again (Jn.3:7). You must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and that begins with you accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal Saviour (2Cor.5:17).
The second step is for you to contend for your righteous heritage by the force of faith in God and His word.
Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold onto eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses (1Tim.6:12)
The faith walk is not cheap walk. It requires more than just a confession. It is a profession that requires your personal commitment and responsibility through consistent and diligent study of the word of God, meditation, effectual fervent prayer coupled with fasting and trust (Mk.9:29, Jos.1:6-8, Heb.11:1-6). You must press into the fullness of your call as the husbandman (Lk.16:16).
The third step is to choose and identify with the right company. This means choosing friends and relationships that will help you grow in goodness and godliness as you pursue your covenant responsibilities as the good and godly man, husband and father (1Cor.15:33).
Finally, you must be vigilant and watchful in your spirit.
Woe unto them that are at ease in zion…(Am.6:1)
You must not become complacent but be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might as you seek to improve in your relationship with God and your wife and children as the good and godly man, husband and father.
God has ordained you to be the good and godly husbandman and be a positive influence to others (Matt.5:14-16). That is His perfect will for you. You must cooperate with God through Jesus Christ to make it happen.
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, pour upon me the spirit of grace and supplication for an effectual prayer life and make me to be vigilant in all things.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from ungodly and unreasonable relationships and influences.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to guard the thoughts of my heart and make my life to please You, always.
FAITH CONFESSION
I have the mind of Christ and I am empowered by the Spirit of God to triumph over the devices of satan, sin and the world, even as I remain steadfast in my walk and works as the good and godly man, husband and father in Jesus name. Amen.
