Bible Texts: Heb.11:1-3, Hab.2:4, Rom.10:17, Heb.11:6, Mk.9:23, Rom.10:10, Rom.4:17, Gal.4:19, Jos.1:6-8, Heb.11:30-32
Praise God!
Over the past days, by the help of the Person of the Holy Spirit, we are learning the importance of prayers and what you and I must do to remain in the lead as victorious, good and godly husbandmen. All of these is to prepare us for the 70 days of fasting with prayers which comes from the 16th of December 2023 to February 2024.
Today, let us consider another important subject that is required for our victory in Christ Jesus. It is faith.
One of the greatest weapons you require to lead yourself, your wife, children and in the marketplace, successfully, is faith in God and His word.
The just shall live by faith……..( Hab.2:4)
The Scripture did not say you must have faith alone. It says you must live by faith. This means that you need to take bold steps in what you believe from the word of God and act on them as a lifestyle.
All things are possible to him that believeth (Mk.9:23)
As the husbandman, every instruction God has given for the office of the husbandhood from His word is to help you become the good and godly man, husband and father. You need bold steps of faith to stand in the gap in prayers (Gal.4:19). You also need bold steps of faith to change your status from a dependent husbandman to a great provider (1Tim.5:8, 2Thess.3:10). You also need bold steps to please God, as a lifestyle (Heb.11:6).
So, how do I walk and act by faith?
The first step you must take is to give attention to the word of God by studying it, thinking about what you have read (Jos.1:6-8). These two actions will help you to grow in faith. The Bible says that, faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God (Rom.10:17). The more you give attention to the word of God in seeking His plan for your life as the husbandman, the stronger you are in taking bold steps of faith.
Secondly, you must engage the weapon of prayer. Even God who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were (Rom.4:17). You must make prayer your lifestyle because praying to God on the basis of His word that you have discovered from Scriptures empowers your faith to obtain the promises of God for your calling as the husbandman.
Finally, you must match the word of God you have believed by confessing same confidently, regardless of the circumstances. In Romans chapter 10 and verse 10, the Bible has this to say. With the heart man believeth and with mouth confession is made unto salvation (Rom.10:10). You must discipline your tongue so that it doesn’t speak wrong but only what you have believed and prayed for from the word of God.
What has God said in His word to you as the husbandman? What have you discovered from the Scriptures about yourself as the husbandman? What did the word of God say about God’s plan for your life as the good and godly man, husband and father? Faith in God and His word guarantees the fulfillment of your calling as the good and godly man, husband and father.
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, open my heart to Your words and help me to receive Your instructions with gladness.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, embolden me with the Spirit of faith.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to discipline my tongue that I will only be speaking what You say and not what I see.
FAITH CONFESSION
I take bold steps of faith and act on the word of God because that is my access to living by faith for outstanding results as the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
