KEEP WATCH OVER YOUR SPOKEN WORDS AND GIVE GOD THANKS

We are in day 16 of the 70 days of fasting with prayers. For the helps we have received to wait upon God, we give Him thanks. Praise be unto Jesus Christ, our Lord!

Today is the last day of this year 2023. For all that God has done for us, with us and through us, we return all the glory, praise and adoration to Him alone. Hallelujah!

As we close down the year 2023, you and I as husbandmen must keep watch over what we say today because satan, sin and the world will want to remind us of what did not work, hence there is no need to thank God for the year 2023.

Consider this for a moment.

I call to you, Lord, come quickly to me; hear me when I call to you. May my prayer be set before you like incense; may the lifting of my hands be like the evening sacrifice. Set a guard over my mouth, LORD; KEEP WATCH OVER THE DOOR OF MY LIPS. Ps.141:1-2 (NIV)

God wants you to keep watch over the door of your mouth so that what you must be saying today is thank You my Father, thank You Jesus, thank You Holy Spirit. One of my mentors in the faith once remarked that if you have ever lost anything, God is the reason why you have not lost everything. So, let us come out to give thanks and appreciation to God Almighty for His wondrous acts in our lives as men, husbands and fathers.

The one who guards his mouth preserves his life, the one who opens wide his lips comes to ruins (Pro.13:3) NASB

When you guard your lips to ensure that only thanksgiving proceeds out of your mouth today and always, God will not only preserve what you have, He will also come through for you in many more ways today and in the New Year.

But how do I guard my lips so that I speak only words of thanksgiving rather than complaints?

Bless the Lord, O my soul and all that is within me, bless His holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul and forget not all his benefits (Ps.103:1-2)

Sit back and recall what could have happened to your health, finance, children, business, ministry, wife, parents, career and so much more, if God did not come through for you.

Count your blessings, name them one by one

Count your blessings, see what God has done,

Count your blessings, name them one by one,

And it will surprise you what the Lord has done

That is the song you must sing today. That is your testimony.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, forgive me for not remembering Your goodness and mercy over my life and all that concerns me.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, open my eyes to see Your goodness and mercy all over my life and all that concerns me.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, I thank You for all that You have done for me and all that concerns me in 2023.

FAITH CONFESSION

I keep watch over my lips and I utter only words of gratitude and thanksgiving to God Almighty for His wondrous and marvelous works He did for me, through me and with me in 2023. I give Him all the glory and praise because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
