Wherefore, my beloved, as all of you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure. Do all things without murmurings and disputings (Philippians 2:12-14)
The emphasis on the word of God in Philippians chapter 2 is verse 13 which says that it is God who works in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure. A lot of the time, the husbandman thinks he can do those things that please God by his own wisdom and strength. Other times, he uses his human ability and thinks that will also help. In both ways, the husbandman struggles to walk in ways that please God. Hence, the husbandman must recognize that, it is not by power nor by might but by my Spirit saith the Lord (Zech.4:6).
God is the only Person who can empower you to do His good pleasure that will give you the testimony of the good and godly man, husband and father. Only God can help you submit to Him in all things and only He alone can empower you to obey Him in all things. Only God can empower you to walk in love and live a life of righteousness and holiness. Those godly virtues and attitudes you desire in your life can become a reality only by the help of God.
So, how do I get God to help me to do His perfect will as the husbandman?
You get God’s help through the weapon of prayer (Lev.6:9, Jas.1:3-7). The prayer platform is the altar of empowerment. The Bible says this. Call unto me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things that thou knowest not (Jer.33:3).
Every change you want to see in your life can be conceived and birthed on the prayer altar. It takes much more than the physical strength to effect a change of character. It takes spiritual warfare to make positive changes possible. Are you ready pray to God for empowerment to becoming the good and godly husbandman?
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, make me an effectual praying husbandman.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to continue to connect to Your power to fulfill Your perfect will.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, help me not to be discouraged in praying for the needed changes that I desire to see in my life.
FAITH CONFESSION
I continue to stand in prayer, praying the perfect will of God’s to be done in my life and doing those things that please Him because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
