EFFECTUAL FERVENT PRAYER OF THE HUSBANDMAN (1)

I welcome you to today’s teaching and our focus will be on prayers and how you and I can use this spiritual weapon to establish the fulfillment of our mandate as husbandmen. Therefore, in the next three days, we shall be examining the three-dimensional prayer focus area for the husbandman.

But before we begin, let us get some assurances from the word of God about prayers and how it helps us to have and maintain a healthy fellowship with God through Jesus Christ.

Thus saith the Lord the maker thereof, the Lord that formed it, to establish it, the Lord is his name. Call unto me and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not (Jer.33:2-3)

God is committed to answering you when you pray according to His perfect will. You must therefore not be afraid that your heavenly Father will not answer you when you call on Him. He will answer you.

But there is one very important virtue that you need to receive answers to your prayers to God. And that is faith in God and His word (Heb.11:6).

Jesus said unto him, if thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth (Mk.9:23)

Whatever God’s word has said concerning your assignment as the husbandman can be a reality if you can pray, believing.

Now, what are the three focus areas you must continue to maintain in fellowship with God on the prayer altar? They are the prayers for yourself as the man, husband and father (Gen.1:26-28, Gen.2:18-25, Gen.4:1). It is the combined personality that makes up the person of the husbandman and your success as the man, husband and father, is what defines you as the good and godly husbandman.

But why is the prayer for the man very important?

The perfect will of God for the man is for him to maintain a healthy fellowship with God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost (Gen.1:26-28, Gen.2:14-15). It is the first and most important desire of God from the male-man. God does not only want you to relate with Him here on earth, He also wants that friendship to continue after you leave this world to be with Him in heaven (Gen.3:8-9, Rev.3:20).

The second reason is that your spirit is willing to please God but your flesh is weak (Matt.26:41). You know that that action you are about to take is wrong and against the will of God but you still find yourself doing it. But with prayers for yourself, you overcome the desires of the flesh. The third is that praying for yourself keeps you on track in thinking, acting and doing what is true, lovely, honest and pure (Philp.4:8).

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, teach me how to function as the man.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, guide me by Your word to do Your will as the man.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to keep my prayer altar burning as the man.

FAITH CONFESSION

I am made in the image and likeness of God and I take responsibility to seek fellowship with God through His Son, Jesus Christ and to always do His perfect will as the man because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
