YOU ARE ALSO UNDER AUTHORITY

One of the deceptions satan and the world sell to the husbandman is that he is above his wife; that no one can tell him what to do; that he is above correction or contrary opinion. These lies have made the husbandman arrogant, selfish, and unwilling to learn and grow.

Now, did you know that you and I as husbandmen are under authority, even though we are the heads of our families? Let us consider the word of the Lord from Scriptures and see whose authority we are under.

The head of Christ is God and the head of the man is Christ and the head of the wife is the husband (1Cor.11:1-6)

The word of God says that God is the Head of Christ, Christ is the Head of man and you are the head of your wife. As the good and godly husbandman, you must acknowledge the Lordship of Jesus over all that you represent. This will help you to be humble in heart and be teachable. This will also help you to receive counsel, admonition and corrections with joy and gladness of heart.

The head of Christ is God and the head of the man is Christ……

The same way Jesus Christ does only those things that please the Father because He is under the authority of God, is the same way you must subject yourself to Jesus Christ and do what He commands you to do in your life as the man, husband and father. You must first and very importantly learn to be accountable to Jesus Christ, the Head of the Church and the perfect example of the good and godly husbandman, in all things.

And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee….(Jn.17:11-12)

See how Jesus Christ submitted wholly to the Lordship of God. He said, “I come to thee-God”. This is Jesus Christ, the Son of God, One with God, solemnly relating to God in the fashion of a son and father relationship.  

Yes, it is true that your position as the head confers on you benefits but you must first demonstrate your submission to Jesus Christ, who is the perfect example of the good and godly husbandman. This is what influences others to willingly come under your own good and godly authority by listening to you and obeying your instructions.

God wants you to enjoy your leadership as husbandman. He wants you to lead a good and godly life. He wants your wife and children to submit, that is obey you, in all good and godly things. But you have a responsibility to learn to submit your own life-will and emotions- to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

Therefore, bring yourself under the authority of Jesus Christ in your thoughts, will, emotion and action and watch your life influence your wife and children to submit to your authority as the good and godly man, husband and father, willingly and joyfully.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, I surrender my will, emotions, my body to You.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, I give You my life, my soul and my thought as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, please let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable to You.

FAITH CONFESSION

I consciously and willing declare You, Jesus Christ, as the Lord over my life because that is the gateway for me to become the good and godly influence over my wife and children and in the market place as the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
